I'm a solo player. And i now just got the feeling that i need Auras. I want to play without them. but its not possible for me. at least i need 1-2 auras.
i feel like i'm forced to use auras.
Please make the game playable without them.
the rest sounds as always promising !
Just the Auras and the missing cut throat league is bothering me ;)
We're roughly doubling the rate of item drops from important bosses in Merciless difficulty. We want Vaal, Piety and Dominus runs to be a great way to stock up on rares and Unique items. While you won't find the absolute best top-tier gear from these bosses, they're probably the most time-efficient way to get a lot of wealth that can be traded with mappers.
No chance at AP/Lunaris-->7-10 min Bossruns--->Too long

Many players want to kick off their shoes when they get home from work and farm The Docks (or similar areas) for hours without having to think about the difficulty of running Maps or Bosses. While this strategy obviously can't yield the best items in the game, we've decided that players should be able to get to level 100 eventually by playing these areas. We're changing the experience equation so that you don't encounter as much experience dropoff farming late Merciless difficulty. This won't make it any faster than it currently is for players to get to level 100, but it will open up area farming as a way to get there (so that you don't have to be part of a 74+ mapping group to have a shot at the upper ladder).

Maps are the best place to find end-game base types and high Unique items. This is appropriate because they're gated behind high currency requirements (to reroll the mods you want). In addition, the highest ones are great for experience gain. They also offer the highest challenge levels for extreme players who want to test themselves against brutal combinations of mods.
Still horrible map drop chances in merciless.

To solve this, we're making auras more powerful but are increasing their mana reservation costs. There are new aura cost reduction passives that allow you to specialise in having many auras if you still want to be a full-on aura character. Now each aura that affects you can really be felt and there's a lot more diversity in aura loadout. When we're testing high level characters it's amazing how different they feel when different combinations of auras are selected.
Why don't you limit auras to 3 and add keystones which allow +1 possible aura?
Seriously the game already has enough cost problems. Clarity being even more expensive? But then characters need a regeneration of like 200 Mana per Second without stacking manareg nodes/Eq.

While it's completely intentional that poor character builds should struggle (to encourage people to plan a better character), we found that many players were giving up because their item progression was stalling their progress. We're making the following changes to address this:
It's approximately 233% easier to obtain four linked sockets.
It's approximately 25% easier to obtain five linked sockets.
Quest rewards for Cruel difficulty onwards have been improved so that you receive more rare items as rewards.
The links weren't a problem in Cruel. It was a major problem to pay the cost of 3-4 linked spells!
No change in Oneshot Gearcheck mechanics? Why running a passive tree then? It's just like D3 then giving the illusion the Passive tree changes anything.
As I have a "Beacon" witch that is able to currently only just run all 10 auras and fully levelled arctic armour, (because i have spec'd fully into mana, and reservation reduction, forsaking ALL defensive nodes until level 81) I have a couple of thoughts about this new way of dealing with auras.
The extra reservation reduction nodes, are they located mostly near the Int based characters, or spread across the tree?
With % cost rather than flat numbers, this may make it easier to run auras without speccing fully into mana, as no amount of mana will outrun the cost of the auras.
More ways to increase the range of the auras will be very handy, as sometimes my beacon has to get swamped by enemies in order to be affecting multiple party members.
If GGG wants to look at her loadout, it's MaxAuras. For all others i'll give a basic rundown.
As you can see, nearly everything has a combination of mana, intelligence, mana regen, and the uniques have reservation reduction.
Considering the lengths I have gone to to make this rather unique character (how many others have not taken any life, es, resistance, evasion, armour, or damage nodes AT ALL by level 80?), i think that this build is fairly niche.
Will it still be possible to run all auras with this level of specialization?
will it be even easier because of the higher amount of reservation reduction?
We've increased the damage of all Two Handed Weapons and have introduced a new set of two-handed physical and elemental damage mods that they can receive.
The two-handed damage increases also affects bows. They now receive the new two-handed physical damage mods and the old one-handed elemental damage mods. In addition, the slowest high level bows have been given implicit mods to provide a more interesting tradeoff against fast bows.
I read this as two handers will get a buff to base damage, which will affect existing items as well, no?
Besides there will be new and stronger mods for two handers which of course not will effect existing items, but existing items will be able to roll these mods (modulo item levels).
Anyone agree/disagree in this interpretation?
I agree.
What this does is it takes current top tier 2h weapons and makes them no longer top tier. Granted, this is normal in a game to show progression in tiers, new exciting area and new exciting weapons to get. However, you normally bump the levels, add additional harder content to make up for the additional damage people are now doing.

I see. A post about some new features and a user (Xabierus) explaining his opinion. Cannot see any insult in his post. He dislikes the new changes and he just explain it. You disagree with him and far from a fair debate, your main argument is based on "jerk", "hurting ego" and "bitching".
He doesn't know how the game will work after the final release, you told him. And you know him to speak him this way?
I don't think a neutral post deserves these kind of words, even it wasn't well formatted with some beautiful paragraphs. A bit of respect, the world will follow even with people thinking things you don't want...
Great news, I like all the changes. Has there been any mention of being able to re-spec the bonuses from "Deal with the Bandits" quests? I would love the ability to change for my characters pre 11.0. Even if it required some currency or having to complete the quest or a different quest over again!
i like all the updates. but since item quantity has been removed, a 6 months league would have been better than 4 months imo; not enough time to enjoy the league and get good items since there will be less "very good" items than before

My eyes hurts from this post.Paragraphs next time.First of all.How can you know map getting worse? For all you know is that in maps you will get higher unique than farming outside.
They also told you that you will get double the items of the boss.So that means iiq is quite useless to start.
There will be more areas than docks, and as they said, maps will be better for items and should be better dont you think?
If anyone can get those "OP items you are referring to,why that should bother you? What hurts?Your ego maybe?
They said about auras, that you can run the same as you run now,but you will need passives which reduces the % so what is the hustle all about? They got destroyed your "OP" build so you cant figure out a new way to play your class?
Game wont be easier. You've seen new areas?Dominus? You bitch about not be able to handle game with kaom and shavrone, then you are bitching on why things can get easier by someone fusing with less tries. What exactly do you want?Exactly, you dont know what you want. You are an elitist jerk, thats all.
I don't know if maps will be worse, I said it would be more expensive and, with less drop, harder to remain playing maps and forced to farm to get currency outside maps.
You get double items from boss, less from the rest of mobs. Now you can farm a boss and most of the times you get one or two rare items, or none, It have to be increased more than double to be a good way of farming.
If good uniques drop isn't augmented I don't think maps would be better neither the other areas. It would be worst at every area.
About those op items, nothing hurts to me, the only thing I say is that they are "unique" and like 6L they have to be something like "luxury", If everyone have one it will not be a "luxury" anymore, something that GGG said about 6L. You have to plan your build not thinking in those items, they have to be the cherry in the cake.
Sure it won't be easier? I think so. I don't like an easier game, it's possible atm reach end-game in one or two intense playing days, if u change the game to be easier it would become other game, call it D3 or call it as you want.
I know what i want but i don't know what you want. And please, next time keep words like "elitist jerk" in your pocket, I don't like it and I don't deserve it.
