Patch 0.9.12qq includes a Legacy Migration
" Actually, this migration is long overdue and you know it. This is not a sudden reaction to any big changes. It's more like a dam bursting from an accumulation of water over time. Ever since Chris said that those longer races were a replacement for legacy migrations, in that they provided data for the devs from a fresh perspective, I have pushed for legacy migrations. I'm not ashamed to admit that if there was an argument for it going on in the background, my voice was obstinately fixed on the fact that default resembled legacy more and more each significant patch. My main point, driven entirely by high level posters, was that testers felt certain changes were completely breaking their characters, and in a way they were. But this is nothing new: bigger changes to the game in the past would have resulted in the same such redundancy, but for one thing. The fact that back then, a legacy migration carried with it the implicit notion that the game had changed on every level, and thus existing high level characters, essentially created in a different game, no longer had any true bearing on the testing process. That clarity has been lost lately, and has led people to the unfair stance of believing their high level characters, including gear, are still relevant to the game as it stands now. I think a lot of the people posting here understand that, and the lack of massive 'qq' makes me incredibly proud of this community, even more so than usual. That all said, just this once I might keep my highest level character on legacy rather than deleting and starting over as a legacy migration typically suggests, just because I think legacy is about to have its last hurrah, and with pvp, it might be one heck of a party. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

I would love a time though GGG. Gonna be like starting a race. I need to be at the starting line when the gun goes off. |

" This is exactly why ES is fucking broken. 20k ES builds vs 4-5k HP....what a load of crap. HP stats on items need to be doubled period. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

Looking forward to it :) Will this mean there will be changes to the righteous fire gem btw?

Lol. where in the world did you get 20k from?

" That's an unfair knee-jerk reaction. Those items are ridiculous, probably only one or two exist among the hundreds of players playing this game. Every marauder who reaches 60+ gets 3k hp trivially. You only need 1 mod on gear as a Marauder and that's life. Who cares if your armor is low? As a non-life user, you need 2 mods with 2 amazing rolls to get ES that high. It's not easy or trivial. Way worse if you want to use ES+life or ES+armor+life. Secondly, ES is not ridiciulous. Just the high-tier possibilities. I have no more than 5k~ ES on two of my characters mid 60 characters (one ranged and one melee) and I die frequently in default against stun-spam, freeze-spam, or shock-spam (these are pretty much hard-counters to CI builds). I'd much rather have 3k life with ridiculous regen like most Marauders/Duelists. Doubling life on gear would destroy this game, when you consider the compounding effect blood magic and life regen have. Granted, getting over 10k ES is a little ridiculous, but you can't nerf ES overall because it will trickle down and effect players who aren't massively rich/farmed up. It will also force more min/maxing. Hardly anybody does a ES/hybrid build, hardly anybody does a ES/armor or ES/evasion build. Nerfing ES will just make more people cram more investment into ES. I think CI should be removed/altered, but defenses for templar/shadow/witch be overall rehauled. Outright buffing or nerfing something won't fix the defense issue for the int-aligned classes. " Considering my brother has half the ES on his gear as that stuff and has 13K then 20k is doable easily. |

" You clearly dont play life builds or must be only on default (as indicated by your post). 3K life is attainable but saying that you dont need armour is absurd. 3k life builds get 1 shot in hardcore easily and thats WITH armour. Without it its GG. Even if you went pure life regen you would be lucky to reach 400-500hp/s (while considerably nerfing your life buffer in the process). Does that low regen make any difference when you are being critted for 3k or 6k damage? No. You run a 15K ES build regen at some absurd 3K/s all you have to do is dodge an attack or walk away for a second and you have generated 3K back to pad your insanely high buffer. In hardcore where buffer is what keeps you alive ES wins every time. The life to ES discrepancy is HUGE and anyone who does not see must be ignorant or plain stupid. " Can somebody please explains to me what this means, I really don't understand it. What is a tier? What does "planning your character" concretely means? Why would people want the full set of skill points and bandit quest rewards for this "28 tier PVP mode"? Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Oct 6, 2012, 6:26:27 PM
