Lioneye's Glare - Why an offensive bow?

Lioneye has a bow
Lioneye has a shield

So why not make the bow significantly less offensive and allow the use of a shield as its unique attribute?

Lioneye's Glare
Imperial Bow

(120 - 145)% Increased Physical Damage
Adds (3 -6) - (10 - 16) Physical Damage
+(80 - 100) to Maximum Mana
(10 - 20)% increased Attack Speed
Allows the use of a shield
Cannot equip quivers
Hits cannot be evaded

I just couldnt picture how one would draw the bow while holding a shield in one hand as well.
By strapping the shield to your arm.
You don't shoot a bow, do you?

No. No one in their right mind, as an archer, would strap a shield to either arm. It would get in the way more often than not.
Lioneye does, from the looks of it.
Also, i occasionally do archery, and strapping a shield onto your gripping arm wouldn't get in the way unless you hold your bow horizontally while having the shield strapped on vertically.

It would be heavy, sure, but it wouldn't prevent you from firing at all unless you lacked the strength to carry the shield.

These tower shields were called Pavese and served as a cover for archers, stuck on ground, while they fired arrows behind them .It's not a common battle shield and was never hold in hand, but usually transported by carts.

But strapping the shield to your arm doesn't mean it won't be moving around on your arm, especially if you're moving a lot. It would, at some point, get in the way.
