0.9.12 Information and Incomplete Patch Notes (Updated)
Bah!
Only 3 zombies in total til I reach a high enough level for max 8. Sounds too few to be a pure summoner. We'll see, I'll definitely want to try a summoner now that the ai is fixed. www.graffiticreator.net

" Hi. Is it possible to change this so life bar is always showing but it shows the current life of most damaged summon? If we want to heal them knowing the life of most damaged summon is the most important thing. Also from these patch notes it is not clear if we are still going to have targeting issues (or being unable to enter town portals) because of being able to mouse over minions and see their health?! BTW, limiting skeletons to only 2 per cast is a nice try to weaken Totem+skeleton spam but it just means now we need to attach faster cast rate to the totem as well to get the same benefit. I would be better if you ban skeletons from totem altogether. Last edited by Torin#1843 on Sep 7, 2012, 5:35:19 AM

I definitely think having to hold Alt to show sockets in the inventory is a bad idea. Though I myself can live with it, I don't think it was considered that it adds an extra layer of UI learning that the player must learn when first playing, which could easily lead them to not figuring out how to socket gems.

Just adding my voice to the others requesting an option to turn on sockets display in the inventory. Give us a choice, please!

" So what will be the incentive of levelling this gem up? Right now at max level we can raise 5 at once, and have a maximum of 11 (not including the extra 8 or so from passives). From what I understand of the patch notes, we achieve the proposed numbers with a Level 5 gem. Or have I misinterpreted something? |

" It's a little sad that some people play the game with Z always toggled on. They never get to see the fine artwork on the items because it's being totally covered by the sockets overlay. It's just like the Detective Vision problem from the Batman: Arkham series games. |
|
" Perhaps when all items have different art and are distinguishable by art only. After finishing Normal difficulty or so for the first time, I have seen all the arts and would much rather see sockets. I am in the "give us a toggle" group. No matter how the new sockets look, I would rather have them always on. Heck, I would rather see only sockets and no art than only art and no sockets. |

Freedom!
Give us a toogle! I want to see my sockets clearly! Plus, the changing to skeleton is imho not needed. They are the "spammable but sort of weak" summon type; this way they are something like zombies, and I don't really need it, I need skeleton for fast cover when I'm swarmed. Chris I don't like the minion changes so far.
Teleporting doesn't solve broken pathfinding (also affects other monsters!!), monsters can block themselves even going into the same direction. I think this is the root of the problem. Also skeletons always in pairs is VERY VERY bad. Even now it is painful to play with skeletons. You have to resummon them all the time anew. Make skeletons permanent then and limit em to 1 summon or as someone suggested just ban them from totem if it is so broken? Or limit it in some other invoative way. --- Oh guys, about sockets. When on the ground you can see sockets by little dots next to the name. Don't need to hover. You can also see links there! In inventory maybe make it the same? I think there is no indicator right now but we could use some minuscule one. I think they will make everything togglable in the end :) It still beta though. Just gotta request with insistence since this is trivial. The problem here could be too many illogical options for endusers. Last edited by Neikius#2291 on Sep 7, 2012, 7:37:18 AM

" Yep, freedom of choice in the UI is always the best way to please most players. I am really curious as to why this change was planned in the first place? Is it really because the artists fear their work will be underappreciated? Because I need to have sockets turned on for fluent gameplay, nontheless I turn them off from time to time just to watch my nice and shiny stuff ;) @People criticizing the skeleton change. You are kidding, right? I am playing a Shadow mostly and am in no way a summoner. Yet I maintain a supported skellie spell just in case and to be quite honest I could go through the entire game unharmed just by spamming skellies. Not a single support node on the tree picked, nothing. Those things are so strong it isn't even funny anymore. When I get into an area my normal build cannot handle I just keep spamming skellies till the area is cleaned out while I wait somewhere far away. This nerf is much needed and from my perspective right now might not even be enough, but we will see about that. |
