As for the pierce quiver;
Would the pierce chance from a support gem apply to spells? I suppose only if cast on crit because otherwise they aren't linked?

I would think that pierce linked to any projectile gem will increase damage, a bit like how melee physical damage works with melee physical damage gems.

The more I think about it the more I doubt it, it says 'projectile damage increased by arrow's chance to pierce', the question is which arrow, tho one supported by pierce, your normal attack or some other? Spell isn't an arrow so its chance to pierce can't count, and attack that triggers CoC and triggered spells have proven to be entirely separate. And I don't think the bonus is global.

Only one way to find out, someone please test for us! - Im believe the bonus is global to all arrows from passive node / implicit of the quiver, just not sure about pierce. Like how broadstroke affects damage from facebreaker
One would assume that the Pierce Gem and Curse (Proj Weakness) wouldn't affect it, since it'd reflect the damage on your tooltip, not once it hit the mob. So the max possible would be 45%, like I said..

Not useful for SpellCasters when compared to a Shield.

But it'll be nice for my Piercing Ice Shot Build.

And that defensive Quiver is awesome, I was hoping for a Quiver with Block :P

it specifically states arrow pierce chance, not projectile pierce chance.
I'd say it only applies to arrows and arrow skills then, so no spells, etc.

u are forgetting the first part. "projectile damage increased by arrow pierce chance."
this is the same thing as crown of eyes. in that case, spell damage applies to physical attacks.

in this case ur arrows pierce chance specifically increases all projectile damage. also let me remind u projectile damage passive nodes apply to all projectiles including spells.

ur wrong ragbasti.

Spells have 0% Arrow Pierce Chance though (they're not Arrows after all), is the point.

think of arrow pierce chance and projectiles as separate entities which they are. if u are wearing a bow and that quiver and have "100% ARROW PEIRCE CHANCE" u are also casting ice spear. all projectiles u cast or attack with will be increased by 100%.

if u divide the sentence up into the separate entities u end up getting:

"Projectile damage" is increased by "arrow pierce chance"

Your Projectile Spells would be increased by your ARROW Pierce Chance, not Skill or Support, so just 35% from the Passive and 10% from the Quiver, 45%.

What I'm curious, is would the tooltip reflect having a Pierce Gem on a Bow Skill, or would that not affect it either?..

It specifically states it increases projectile damage, not arrow damage.

Following your logic, clearly Iron Will doesn't apply to spells because it specifically says the melee bonus from strength, which is attack only :P

Arrow Pierce chance is a stat. Spells won't ever use that stat, but they have access to it, just like they have access to see the stat for melee phys damage bonus, and iron will can make them use that to increase something else.

Increasing stat A by stat B will affect something if it's affected by stat A. If stat B also had to be relevant to that skill, then we couldn't do things like Iron Grip and Iron will.

The quiver increases your projectile damage - all of it, including spells - by arrow pierce chance.
the quiver is the crown of eyes for projectiles and arrow pierce chance ^^

if i am wearing a quillrain + the quiver using barrage, cast on crit, 20Q pierce, EK.

will the EK get the 74% "pierce to projectile" bonus?

I see that you dont read and understand clearly what it says on the mods:

Arrow its Arrow, Piercing its Piercing, Projectile its PROJECTILE.

Its like the Crown of EYES: Spell damage are converted to attack aswell, but not the critical chance of spells. Or the same AoF: Deal NO NON - FIRE DAMAGE or the same and good example of Doon Cuebiyari: each X str increase dmg or armour + the lvl 30 IW, it says clearly what it does on to what.

Projectile speed and damage are for the propertie of that skill, if it has projectile then it increases from that, not as a aprt, phy dmg.
