anybody ever witness to a mirror being ninja'd - cuz that would be hilarious
Actually, yes, and the party was set to permanent, but this guy used a portal over where the mirror dropped, and my friend accidentally ran into the portal before picking up his mirror. Long story short... his mirror got ninja'd, LOL!!!!!!!!! Crud... now everyone will start spamming portals all over in 'perma' loot parties to try and ninja... I just opened Pandora's Box!!!

you assumed the 200 players were on 24 hrs/day?
He assumed that the average number of players logged on in a given moment is 200.
This also assumes that your IIQ/IIR would match the mean of those 200 players. I would probably put the mean IIQ/IIR of the game population pretty low, somewhere around 20/10 (Complete Guess). It would be interesting to see some actual statistics about average stats of characters and things like that, if anyone has access to an API to look at that info.
What does IIR have to do with anything? Last time I checked (which was admittedly a long time ago) only iiq made any difference to currency drops, iir only relates to items not currencies.
As for the odds of finding a mirror, are we talking with or without a fishing rod? Huge difference.

Looking at the loot sheet inside the games files a mirror has a 0,0225% chance to drop, and the famous fishing rod found recently (and removed from the game now) was even rarer..

OP is correct in his estimation, during whole of closed beta, population fluctuated from 30-200, maybe 300 tops
Not sure if sarcasm.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

This would mean a mirror drop every ~5000 mobs (on average). It's definitely much rarer.

Its 1 in many 10s of millions chance to drop at the very least.
BUT, I was lucky enough to find a mirror.

The table he was looking at isn't % chance of dropping, it's values that are used to work out how common items and orbs are in relation to each other, rather than how frequently they drop. I think he read it wrong.

That estimate is correct for CB before supporter packs/purchasable entry.
Right before OB it was near to 2k.

if it's weight based, you're right.

currency drops are affected by quantity and nothing else, rarity has nothing to do with it.
