Good news GGG...
I don't feel quite as old now. Thanks op. Have fun this summer and remember to take some time off and enjoy the sunshine too.

" I hope my post makes it back to the GGG devs so they know that many, many players like what PoE has to offer and that it's not all negative feedback and complaints. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

I love that while I'm in town I see a majority of the players are decked out in microtransaction effects more times than not. It's nice to know they are getting the monetary support to continue building on this fantastic game.

Thank you for sharing your story. In particular i think new players should read the part where you made mistakes and found the game challenging and frustrating. rather than complaining that the game is too hard you actually took the time to learn the game mechanics and how to create a balanced build. too many players look at the skill tree and go 'hey i can do anything! lets take all dmg nodes' and then wonder why they start having problems (granted the devs state that glass cannon builds should be viable in end game but i havent seen any yet [key word there is yet, im trying one atm but havent gotten to end game just yet]). But i also made mistakes and had to roll 3-4 characters before i created a build that was viable at end game.
edit: slightly unrelated but I also feel that new players are copying builds more than they should and each player should at some point create a build that they have never seen before until they can get it to work before saying that there are only X low number of viable builds which is completely untrue. Hey this is a signature! pretty cool stuff...yeah... Last edited by websterep on Jun 20, 2013, 3:03:16 PM

nice to see a positive thread. GG OP.
There has to be a low point where some people stop complaining because it's just not worth it, and I have yet to see it. - Squeakypaw, 2013

This thread reminds me of Marvel Heroes.
Don't worry gazillion, those entitled kids want: Robust skill trees - the anaemic ones that exist currently are awesome! To reasonably level to 60 then play actual end game content - they should be rewarded by the grind only, end game is a bonus not an entitlement! Rewarding items and champion customization - the limited items and little to no uniquness of heroes is perfect just the way it is! Every game has its supporters, every game has its critics, but when MH servers go down (and they will) I wonder how their cheerleaders will deal with it ? PoE on the other hand, is an actually good game, but with issues that for some reason, 'supporters' want bury their heads about. Desync is a major failing of this game and it ruins the experience of many players, it's not an entitlement to want a game that can sync reasonably. GGG's code simply does not cut it. Ironically, for all its failings, and MH is just one big pile of buggy fail, after playing through about half of the game before i could not stomach it anymore and uninstalled, I desynced exactly 0 times in that game. Never rubberbanded once. PoE on the other hand, I play with my thumb on an oos macro. | |
" Wow, a reply from one of the GGG team. You just made my day. Thank you so much. I guess you are never too old to enjoy a great arpg. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

Nice post, it is simply one of the best games I have played and definitely the best APRG and the first that I actually want to create more than 1 character with (I generally play melee in all sort of games), this game is not for casual gamer and I truly appreciate that.
