" remote mine takes total damage of spectre/zombie/skill and multiplies it by a multiplier minion damage will add damage additively. so if spectres (Ill just say spectres for now) do bsae damage C you can count all your damage nodes and compare minion damage is C*(1.00 + (all minion damage from items and nodes/100 + .92)) remote mine is C*(1.00 + (all minion damage from items and nodes/100))*1.49 if we call all minion damage from items and nodes/100 = y we have c*(.92+y) ? 1.49cy .92+y ? 1.49 y .92 ? .49y y > 1.87 for remote mine to be better so if you can get more than 187 minion damage nodes from tree+items, then remote mine is barely better. RM is quite a pain to target spectres though. |

135% from passive tree + you need 52% from somewhere 15% sidhe + Midnight bargain 2x 60% basically its quite expensive item wise and node wise to make remote mine more viable. " Doesn't melee splash and multistrike factor in there too with increased damage, meaning you need less from gear? Also, Trap was changed awhile back to have a more multiplier of 39% (9% less than remote mine). Would it be a viable damage booster to stack with remote mine (especially when backed by hatred)? |

Maybe instead of faster attacks. You can try melee physical, remote mine, added fire, or trap
I find multistrike and meleesplash to be mandatory. I have a eva/es helm so my god is it hard to roll reds lol. I still find increasing zombie attack speed to be way better for dps. Mstrike has a more attack speed multiplier which synergizes incredibly well with faster attack. I enjoy the attack speed because it triggers more freeze and chills and stuns. If you ever tried projectile weakness the zombies literally just pin bosses to the wall with the KB. Once I get the trap gem leveled I'll replace faster attacks with it and see how I like it. Right now I have zombies hooked up to multi-strike, melee splash, physical melee, remote mine, and faster attacks.

" the nerf to RM's quality bonus really hit it hard. keep in mind that this is calculation for 20% quality 20 lvl minion damage but for us summoners, you pretty much have to get the highest quality/highest level gems anyway to maximize damage |

Ok am satisfied with the tankiness of my summoner now. Artic armor is quite op with inner force. I can bypass the movement cost with lightning warp.
------------------ Time to turn my attention to my favorite thing to do in POE, spectre experimentation, the subject this time: Devourers Some facts I noted so far they have 2 attacks: A melee slash A big ass fireball(pretty sure this deals fire damage) is this some modified fireball? Behaviors: Is their attack a spell? Spectre takes a while to register and attack monsters They can travel underground (does this avoid burning ground damage?) Supports: All the minion gems should work remote mine, trap, ect GMP works! am going to assume all projectile based supports work would piercing actually be the best support? The fire ball does some scary ass damage. Piercing could help it hit entire packs. The fire ball does seems like it deals aoe damage on hit. So concentrated and increased aoe seems pretty good. The results are in! Terrible lol.
Ok they do a ton of damage when they shoot their fireball. The problem is they spend the majority of the time loafing around or staying underground and frozen in place like complete trolls and doing nothing. LMP(GMP spreads too far) + faster casting + concentrated + minion damage + fire pen Honestly a skeleton archer is better than them xD... So, I was just shown the new trap/mine nodes, and wow. I see a few that could be viable for a summoner. Is the damage boost worthwhile for zombie focus? Here are the nodes that are not too terribly far away for a summoner.
Expeditious Munitions (9% trap and mine dmg node (18%), a 18% trap and mine (36%) and a 5% trap and mine (10%). Saboteur (9% trap and mine (18%) and a 20%!!! trap and mine (40%). Clever Construction (2x 9% trap and mine nodes (18%), but has 1 useless node blocking those) High Explosives (3x 9% trap and mine nodes (18%), 1x 7% trap and mine (14%) and 1x 5% trap and mine (10%) Last edited by Moose65#0910 on Oct 29, 2013, 2:23:48 AM
