I am currently playing level 71-72 maps. I still dont have problem to kill mobs of any rarity in those maps. However I am facing problems to kill some map bosses. I faced problems with Villa map boss, Jungle valley map boss, torture chamber map boss and temple map boss. I mean my minions are Godly before these bosses, and then just melt down in seconds. I have the following set up
Minion Life-Minion Damage-Multistrike-Melee Spalsh-Remote Mine-RZ
Minion Life-Minion Damage-Increase AOE-Remote Mine-RS

Aura - Purity of elements,Clarity,Vitality,Hatred,Grace (Party Member),Determination(Party Member)

I use snapshotting, carry 5x minion flasks and use 2 defensive curse (enfeeble and temporal chain) + bone offering + spell totem skele to tank damage with minion Life, however still not able to handle these bosses.

I am not sure how to handle these bosses without loosing minions. I have taken all minion nodes from passive tree. All my gems are lvl 19 (0 quality) now.

I would like to know from all the summoners, who are able to play end game maps without loosing minions the below questions :
1. Does Purity of light/fire mean huge boost (I think 4% max light/fire resis with it)?
2. Do I need necromancer passive?
3. Does 20/20 gems give significant better boost than 19/0 gems and I can kill the bosses after that easily?

I am really worried, if I can't handle 72 ish map bosses, what would I do in higher level? My gear may improve but those wont help my minions much.

Also is there anything else that can help me with my minion defense?

Torture chamber boss is retartedly difficult for anyone. Jungle valley boss and temple piety are also abnormally strong.

going from 75% resist to 79% is almost 20% less damage compared to what you were taking from that element.

before bone offering it was absolutely essential for bosses like piety (map). Now you might be able to get by without it, but obviously doubling your block chance will make a huge difference.

Each level makes a massive difference in both killing and tanking with zombies. Quality on zombies is one of the most useful quality boosts in the game and also helps massively.

Its not just the level, but the boss itself. Some bosses are just extremely strong for their level (like the lvl 66 devourer boss). Most people just skip bosses like this (especially torture chamber) so not being able to kill them does not mean you can't do higher maps.

It's not too hard to kill those bosses. Ofc it depends on map stats, but let's say that there's only 1 dmg boost. Jungle walley boss should be the easiest one because of tons of spiders that get melted by BMs, so all your flask charges are always on full and you can heal your minions repeatedly. The only one problem there is not to die by yourself from chaos damage. What about piety-there's a problem when you come to her, but your minions don't. You better warp to her from the big distance, so you'll get all your minions near her instantly(if you got what I mean). Evangelist spectre will be VERY helpful to survive. What about torture chamber? Well, that boss casts lightning dot-that laser, so only flask will help you to survive. You'll need to get a huge dps first to kill him before he can spawn all his totems.

Of course, your minions' sirvivability depends on gear you snapshot them with, and the gems.
I dropped the zombie gem into my stash, bc they do 0 damage in comparison with BMs. Even 6l zombies, summoned with 6l chober, even those one summoned with montregul.
I have all gems 20 lvl, some of them are 20/20. I run 3 spectres only, sometimes using animate guardian, but he's not really needed, though he boosts dmg a lot. Jungle valley boss dies in 2-3 seconds, crematorium boss does in about 5-6 seconds, same for temple piety. I haven't tried torture chamber boss for a long time because I don't like the map( same for cells map).

You'll need to spend some exalts to get all the gear for snapshoting and to wait till your gems are 20/20( you won't need to quality'em'all ). And of course everything depends on your passive tree. I'm lvl 93 now, but I still haven't taken all the minion nodes.
With the info that we have, I will rather buy well corrupted gems, and use vaal orbs only to corrupt trash uniques or as currency, since everything else has jus to big of chance for a fail corruption.

P.S. Vaal cold snap looks like a good "Oh shi.." button to me.

It would give me way more room to pick up more damage via nodes instead of traveling so far for MoM. 40% damage reduction sounds amazing and am starting to think physical damage shouldn't be too much of a problem with a high level arctic armor. Dropping grace would let me pick up disicipline(top choice for mana efficient with MoM) for more mana, or determination for armor, or haste for zombie damage.

Soloed level 78 maps without much trouble.
High mana regen ,max artic armor + instant life flask helps a lot.


Cons:
Dot hurts, if you go this route you need a lot of chaos res.

If you consider the upcoming ES nodes buff and scion life wheel nerf
we should probably theorycraft ES /low life variants without MOM.

Desecrate: the maximum level of a created corpse has been changed to being higher than the required level of the skill. This scales up to a monster level cap of 100 by level 20 of the gem. Desecrate also now enforces a limit of 15 corpses at a time.

I don't really understand what they mean with this. What will this mean to summoners? We still can't bring monsters from act 1 up to our level right?
