Discovered this shortly after cod was released :(....knew it was only a matter of time till someone else found it and made it public to get nefed /sad..... was great while it lasted.

I've not seen this problem yet.
Has anyone tested new and improved punishment yet? Judging by the numbers alone, its still terrible for uniques with the curse nerf on them, but it might actually be worth it on whites, blues and maybe even rares now. I could see using it while leveling summoner at least.

Hello everyone =)

I'm a newcomer summoner in standard, (to be exact i didn't play since beta), currently at level 65 and I would like some advice to know how to update my old build and make it efficient ^^


Here's my skilltree:


I have about 7 points left and i'm wondering if I should take %life/mana or reduce mana reserved, atm I can't tank anything and I can't run more than 2 aura (Discipline + Clarity).

My stuff:

I don't use wraith anymore which became useless with EE I think. Currently I only have less than 1K life and 1K3 ES with discipline, and my 9%, 29%, 44%, -60% resist don't help me to take any damage at all.
Should I change a couple of pieces of my stuff or should I take one good part instead ? (Budget: 1.5ex) Which pieces should I change at first ?
With Iron Reflexe, is it better to have a Eva/ES - Armor/ES chest or ES chest ?

I wouldn't try too hard on coming up with an optimal build right now. Chances are in two weeks we all will have to completely redo our builds, not to mention level new gems. And if snapshotting really is removed will have to think about what skills to drop since summoners no longer will have enough sockets for everything.

But as a general advice - Tabula Rasa is teh most importatnt piece of gear right now, but this might change in two weeks.

Isn't the 1.06 patch scheduled for march? Where's this talk about 2 weeks coming from?
i think we are pretty safe most nerfs they have outright say they are balancing this skill or that dmg or that monster

they have not they just say they are ADDING to summoner

IF anything they will Nerf CoD directly to only Proc on death and no other way

This is a good indication of what they will do to us but look CoD is not a Summoner skill its a Trigger gem so the nerfs will come to the Summoner gems if there is any.

and if you look at Raise spectre what can they do to nerf it in anyway that will hurt it significantly other then COMPLETELY redevelop the entire gems mechanics!!!!

and snapshotting is alot harder to recode then everyone thinks its engrained in how EVERY gem works and how the gear interacts with the player

to me it seems liek alotof manhours would be needed to change the entire gear slot link and gem coding
(like 45% of the entire game)
seems like alot to change the way 1 build does things


also the OLD "snapshot" fix was not for "Snapshotting" it was for swapping out a lvl 20 aura for a lvl 1 after it was cast to lower mana cost and stat requirements
that was fixed by giving each level of gem its own Item ID so tech a lvl 1 added fire gem is a completely diff item then a lvl 2 one that was easy basically adding new items to the game

(basically when you level a gem the game Deletes the old lvl one and gives you a lvl 2 gem
and that's y your auras do not increase till you recast it)

that's where snapshotting comes into play


FOR AURAS TO NOT GO AWAY WHEN YOU LEVEL THE GEM THE GAME SNAPSHOTS THE AURA WITH THE NEW GEM

you Can not remove Snapshotting with out breaking auras

(At least that is how i think it works)

As I read it 1.1.0 is in march. 1.0.6 will come as per usual in two weeks time after the previous.
