Australian Test Gateway Feedback (Updated)
50ms from Wellington, New Zealand.
Big improvement from the usual 250-300ms on America. Like others, I'm also getting a steady stream of big lag spikes that don't show up in the in-game ping. Hopefully this is just a server load issue. |

Had a slay on the server earlier, happy to report that my ping from Melbourne was 50 - a huge difference ;)
Like a lot of other people have been saying, I was getting 1 second lag spikes then the game caught up I don't post on these forums very often, but I would like to take this opportunity to thank GGG for making this server happen, I am now even happier that I chose to support this game during CB |

Server is most definitely unstable, you get random spikes where the game 'freezes' then catches up. Either way it's a vast improvement over singapore gateway with 130 ping.
Here's a video of me 'stress testing' the server ;-) (seizure warning) the freezes I'm talking about are especially evident at 3:20 "there is no spoone" - The Matricks Last edited by Zeekin#4930 on May 16, 2013, 4:57:47 AM

I'm getting 34 ping, which is brilliant...
...except that desync and lag feels just as bad as when I'm on the Singapore server, if not worse. In particular, I'm getting over 500ms response times when using my inventory/stash. Amazingly happy that you guys are working on an Australian gateway though. |

ive been on this server for a total of 1minute and i can see the BIGEST difference allready:
Before: In town: 250ping min. frame time 300 min. FPS 25 max. Maps: somewhat stabalized 600ping but get spikes of 1500-9000+ when attacking in a 6man group frame time is pretty much exactly the same as ping so when they spike its very dangerous so when i made my 1 month character i had to make him Obsenly tanky FPS 7-12 max. 0-3max while im attacking in a 6man group(yes zero) After In Town: 30ping for a little while but stablaized at 60 frame time 30ish FPS 30ish Maps: will update soon and the biggest difference i noticed so far i had some unidentified stuff in my bags so i used my scrolls on them and normally i click on them and have to wait for my ping / frametime to register that i clicked on them before i can click on any thing else now it feels INSTANT this probablem was huge when it came to races(main issue for me was mudflats picking up glyphs / items if i didnt wait for about 1/2 a sec before moving again it wouldnt pick the item up which lead to a very annoying death because of charging roah's)i still managed to get my hands on a demi yesturday but the only reason that it was posible was because i it was a BLAMT race now i may have a chance at other races. Thankyou so much GGG i will update this thread with map runs ScottNoIdea

Getting great ping - 30ms - and hits do hit very nicely, so much better now but, like others get fairly regular, mostly short pauses and resyncs. Good start.

oh man. in general this is the bees knees
i was a bit surprised though. first logon to the gateway and get ~200ms. I was like.. wut? tracert showed i was being routed from wellington, NZ to Australia via the US. :) note to any ex TelstraClear customers now it's been sold to Vodafone, check that you are using the Vodafone DNS server addresses. my old TelstraCelar ones were what was causing the issue. updated them and now silky (amazing) ~50ms pathping wont step past the first ISP hop (not responding to a TTL=0 I'm guessing) but tracert appears to confirm this is super stuff:
tracert

This is quite amazing for me (Sydney, Australia)
Both the America + Singapore servers give me a stable 200-220 The Australia server seems to give a fairly stable 30, though I did notice some lag spikes like people were talking about even though F1 didnt show any spikes (though it may be a side effect of never playing on 30 ms before) The lag spikes are feel like they take around 300ms which is a bit higher than the stable 200 I am used to (but since most of the time its @ 30, and I am used to dealing with lag overall the Australia server has been a huge improvement for me). One of the easiest ways I saw this was using Ice Nova. When I land a crit on 200 ms it applies much slower, but on 30 MS it gets applied like lightning. |

" Naw it's definitely more than that. Now that people mention it, the ping itself doesn't visibly spike, so it's something else. It seems like resyncing, violently. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

I'm on Telstra cable in Brisbane and I bounce between 30 and 60 ping. Good stuff!
