Path Of Exile 2, from 500k to 50k players

shouldn't still be a gamble on if I'll get my 3 exalts back or not each map.

You can get most of that on juiceless maps w/ no tower just by salvaging superior gear and exchanging the scrap.

I am one of those people that thinks juicing multiple overlapping towers with +quant and +rarity, and juicing my waystones for rarity or rarity/quant, shouldn't still be a gamble on if I'll get my 3 exalts back or not each map. The currency drops are in a very bad place. This affects crafting, upgrading, trading, etc.

Well yeah, not a bad criticism. But why don't you guys make a thread about loot drops instead of discussing it here?

There are plenty of such posts already. I think they know by now, and if they don't it's a different issue that my post isn't going to fix.
The title of the thread is "Path Of Exile 2, from 500k to 50k players" and I think reward vs effort is a huge factor in that decline.
I want a game where playing the content can net you good currency, not just playing the trade/exchange markets. Basically, 0.1 was way more rewarding for those that play the content and if I could go back to 0.1 I would.

Yeah, people definitely enjoy picking up a bunch of junk and taking a couple steps to get basic currency. Very engaging and fun gameplay.

i dont know why people are trying to defend the present state of the game. there are many things that are very wrong. yes yes i know it's EA, but it wasn't this bad in 0.1.

it's an objective fact that this game is worse than it was before for multitudes of reasons.

its evident for a few reasons. i felt it since the first day. many of my friends couldn't last 2 days before leaving to do something else. streamers left. the economy certainly feels like leagues over.

Isnt as bad as 0.1? You should read the forum during that patch lmao. These people just want to cry.

Other people like me dont want to just defend the game. We know the bad parts of it. Hell, i played 1k hours, i know more then most people here. I just can't handle the crying with an attitude of a child. OP and some commenters act like GGG HAS TO do something they want and do it right now. They claim that the game is dead which is so funny.

Monkey sees graph at 500k - peak
Monkey sees graph at 60k - bad

but the game IS in a bad state. the player count reflects it, streamers leaving reflect it, and me myself not enjoying it for numerous reason reflects it. build diversity reflects it, and someone here saying 50ex build clearing t16 maps also reflects it.

for more clarity on 0.1. i didn't like 0.1 or poe2 as a whole either. but at least acquiring items was fun. in this patch..... items acquisition is far less meaningful.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL
`What are divs?`

Yeah it's because most people just need to try out what's new. Was the same with Path of Exile 2.

But I'm sure they nerfed some good builds in that game that made the players leave.
Devs don't listen at all so I don't wonder.

Players: Campaign is slow and tedious
Devs: Lets make if more slow and tedious

Players: Game seems really unrevarding.
Devs: Lets make good drops even rarer. Lets make also tons of new totaly useless uniques so it will be even harder to get proper ones. Also lets make totally new game mechanics like spirits that are even more unrevarding.

Players: Trials are tedious and not fun at all
Devs: Lets make them even more tedious

Players: Try to listen us and make this more fun.
Devs: Shut up, we have a vision.

Unless they completely abandon the vision the game will not survive to see full release.

The thing I don't get about this absolutely obvious nonsense is that the people you actually want to respond (GGG) know full well that they have more than enough $ to finish the project at this point. So who are you trying to intimidate exactly? Other players? To what end?

Honestly, the only nonsense here is that take from my words.. I never mentioned financing, though it is true that PoE 1 supporters financed the project. No, the more likely outcome is that the playerbase continues to be shredded to 1/10th of what it was each patch if they continue to follow the vision that absolutely no one enjoys.

The numbers speak for themselves, PoE2 was so far off from what people want that they dropped from 580,000 to 20,000!!!! 0.2 saw a resurgence to 180,000 (note that 400,000 people didn't even bother coming back at all) but then the numbers immediately plummeted to a mere 50,000.

Pause a moment and actually think about those numbers.

Now continue that trend for another few patches, how many players will be left by launch time? 10? 6 if you don't count the staff?

The numbers don't lie and the facts are undeniable.

No one wants the vision.

Could you please point me out where was the drop to 20k exactly? Do you think that it is unrealistic for the game to be at their peak playercount at all times? Did you just use those numbers to confirm the point you already decided to believe?

So, to prove your point you found the lowest point on the graph and the highest and think this is statistics? Lmao :D
Why don't you consider what day it is, what time of day? Im not saying that the graph doesnt go down, but that is ok for the state of the game. It is in early access, meaning that a lot of changes will come. If people don't like changes they will stop playing for some time. BUT its not like they going to drop the game for good. Will you make a post after the next patch pointing out how the game regains player base? doubt that.

You literally asked him to point out to you where the drop to 20k was, which he did.. From your response I can only conclude that you're a troll.
Can anyone explain why the 3 biggest brown nosers on the forums who deny all the facts and evidence so they can proclaim PoE 2 a succcess have young accounts with ZERO financial support emblems?

Fascinating, that those who are upset by GGG failing to meet the standard we know they are capable of all have hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of financial support for the company.

Just an interesting fact..
