" I watched dreamcores video on ward. Its still a really stupid mechanic. it has no psynergy with the armour section in the tree without block. You cant get all the ward points and the block node. The bottom left of the tree is about getting more life and mitigation, not avoidance. You can travel into other chars places to get avoidance and suppression but its costs you travel nodes. There may be obscure builds with very specific gear that come out of this. For your average person that wants to play marauder for class fantasy of a violent viking/tanky character. This ascendancy makes no sense. Ward does not give you hc level defenses. If it does the amount of investment has to be absurd because nobody uses ward in hc. |

I mean for the average person... they dont play HC at all.

There are more than 1 perceptions I am considering this from.
Take someone who has never played poe1 before. And they look at this ascendancy what do they think about it. Someone who plays hc. Go look up ward items in hc on poeninja. Essentially unused as a defensive mechanic. Marauder or their bottom left ascendancies in general lately have favored downsides (berserker for a lot longer) What if they added the line in vaal pact that says cannot recover life from other sources or whatever into the slayer overleech node. What if champions fortify node said cannot suppress spell damage. What if gathering winds said "cannot gain movement speed from boots" Why is the design philosophy for bottom left becoming "downsides" for GGG, sure settlers was a success for melee but downsides is clearly their motto now. poe2 bottom left tree, armour is trash, reduced attack speed + to attack time. no trigger on stun. need triple str req to use weapon. stuck scaling life if maces cause str. New ascendancy ideas for this league. Cannot use spells, 50% reduced dex, you have no intelligence. Then on the contrary you look at surfcaster and some of the other new ascendancies and its very clear what is going on. |

What i like about the ancestral commander
max end charges +2 (1 per ring) +1 arns anguish belt +2 deaths door (1 from boots, 1 from corrupt bonus) +1 sublime vision +3 from regular passive tree +3 from ancestral endurance (NEW) Total = 12 max endurance charges. with arn's anguish that translates to 36% chance for triple damage. you can get two handed mastery for another 3% for a grand total of 39% chance for triple damage. then we have a very solid "no slow" node which technically makes you immune to freeze while making your chest armour stronger. then we FINALLY have a ascendancy for MELEE STRIKE SKILLS. where we get built in ancestral call effect and warrior legacy effect but without the downside or loss of a ring slot. whether or not the warrior legacy effect is worth it or not is debatable tho. but still. it can be very powerful if you stutter step.
