State of Early Access Update
"Every few months" is too slow imo. EA should be quick updates so players have time to test.

I honestly don't care whether it's fixed or not. I’ve spent over a thousand dollars on this game, and I want my damn MTX, or at least some of them. You said they’d carry over to POE 2, so where are they? Just give me a real update or I’ll have my lawyer take care of it.

The problems people are having seem to be wrapped up with:
"We are in an EA for POE2, that is being treated like a full release" If this is an EA, make respecs free, make updates WAY more often, even if it nukes builds, test alot of things and keep giving players stuff to chew on. If people could go wild on testing alot of different things, they likely would, but if the game is treated as a full release where nothing is touched for 3 months in a row....... people are going to get bored and quit...... or complain on the forums then quit. |

Exactly, this saving up stuff for big patches is what Diablo does and everyone hates them for it because then it just takes forever to make the changes that everyone can see should happen ASAP, and the anger grows every day it's not addressed.
You can NOT afford to do it like this until the majority if issues are no longer a thing, then you can take your time. Do not make us wait months for a 5 minute edit in the code. Patch that shit in, and if it breaks things, so what, that's what EA is for, it's now or never. Last edited by Surray#1984 on Feb 8, 2025, 9:12:18 AM

"We initially thought that there would be more tolerance for this kind of thing during Early Access"
Just gonna echo everyone else telling you to grow a pair. Or make a ptr. Or just make it explicit that some builds will be nerfed; give people info. Give respec points on major changes. Reasonably generously. You're not creating any expectation doing that, particularly if you actually add notes in game on why they're available. No-one wants a poor port of poe 1 this december, or a wildly extended development period. Those are the dangers of spacing out testing. If there has to be a stable league, that's fine. But have enough faith in the player base that there are enough non-whiny types to sustain at least a ptr. Also people who do actually form expectations around final release because something was in EA are entitled whiners, but whatever - I understand the impulse to keep them on board. |

Guys, you need to talk about the fps issues as well. I and many others can't play the game with a constant 60+ fps with a mid or high-mid tier pc. Personally I have an i9-11900KF with RTX 4070Ti and 64G RAM. When I am in the middle of the fight the fps drops below 30. Mechanics like breach or ritual are unplayable.

" I think GGG did this one to themselves. Most people made a very sensible request to have a free respec for everyone when these balance patches occur, especially the ones that make drastic and possibly build-breaking changes. They responded in kind with a slight reduction to the respec cost and longer waits for changes, which they are blaming us for. Seems opportunistic, given that they are very clearly just not ready to deliver at the pace they said they could. |

Ahem, this post did not properly read 'without major changes'

I am ALL for constant and fast changes during EA, but "We initially thought that there would be more tolerance for this kind of thing during Early Access".
Sorry to hear GGG say that, but let's be honest GGG is who set this expectation of EA being just like a regular 'league launch'. Even now, set the expectation of balance changes to be what you (GGG) want. Right after that first balance patch when players were complaining that was the opportunity to remind the players, that this is EA after all. This 'league' period of PoE2 is getting stale, so when you reset the economy or whatever with a major content update, announce the schedule and set the expectations for the players. Ensure players understand that this is EA, so expect regular skill/gear/balance changes for the next few months. So, GGG, please shake things up in EA, develop and roll out changes how it fits the development schedule. |
