personally I feel like they changed all the things I rly did not like about PoE1 and made them better in PoE2 in a way that works for my smooth brain.
I feel like I am literally the target audience this time around.

In PoE1 I rly struggled and did not like:
- the fkn labyrinth (I hate it w a passion)
- crafting
- movement with mouse (what can I say, smooth brain here)
- mapping and especially the atlas (the layout, how to do it - literally everything about it)

What PoE2 does better (for me):
- once I understood how the two trials work, I found a farm I rly rly enjoy. as example doing a quick chaos trial during a work break for relaxing is just the best.
- crafting is so basic, that even I understand it
- WASD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Endgame mapping - I am such a sucker for the visuals how the atlas is set up. And that I can choose my path. For a while I focused only on fully juicing maps and grind certain things. Then I switched to only rush citadels and so on. u can choose what u feel like doing.

wait did you just just say you hate the Lab in poe....have you not seen the lab in poe2? its 10 times worse...maybe even 20 times worse...sorry but i cant take your post seriously after reading that

What you don't like juicing your atlas for exactly one map and then running that one map until you start dreaming about it?

Honestly some poe1 vets' points are just ridiculous, like how having to pull three levers in augury is a crime against humanity or something. I really hope GGG will do its best to distance poe2 endgame from poe1 as much as possible.

I mean sure there is a lot of things that poe1 does better, but, like, it had over a decade of expansions and we're not even three months into EA with poe2. I really wish they reverted their decision to not introduce balance changes mid league for EA because the balance right now is out of whack, but that doesn't mean poe2 doesn't have a lot of potential.
i really think ziz, ben and the layout crew are suffering with terminal poe1 zoomer brainrot.

i get it, i have the same condition. in poe1 give me the ability to just run that 1 map all day, let it be a straight line with 0 back tracking, dont mess with my gameplay flow i just want to be in some zen flowstate autogrinder slamming the move skill and my aoe spam. map in map out map in map out, audio book going, cryochamber ambient mix going, bag of malteasers, 8 hours free time no work tomorrow lets fking go...

yeah, i get it. but i also recognise its a degenerate state of divs per hour barely gameplay adhd hyperfocus fidgetspinning.

there can be more to games than this. poe2 wants actual active conscious gameplay. mark has spoken about that in poe1 and i get it but i disagreed because poe1 has been too far gone for too long. you cant go back when youve let that be the game for 10 years. the time to take better care of the game came and went in 2015.

as a game ages we care less, weve seen it before, 1 div doesnt do it, 10 divs is meh, a HH becomes expected, beating a pin boss is seen it done it. you become numb to stuff and over time you need more and more stuffs to feel something through this tolerance youve grown.

poe1 is just full junkie mode now, and it cant be anything else because its so old and its been speedballing that crackpot behaviour to a point of normalisation that can never be undone.

but this isnt that game. it will become that game eventually but until then if ben and ziz cant get their brains out of the crack squat of poe1s "MUST BE FAST MUST BE 150% EFFICIENCY OMG DONT WASTE MY SECOND BRO IM ZOOMIN!!!!!!!" mindset then they should stay in poe1, come try poe2 in 7 years when its gone full lolcopter from 28 leagues of powercreep. i love those guys, esp ziz hes done a lot for this game and hes a genuine guy, mad respect to ziz.

but i do not want the devs to cave to this "every map must be og gorge spam fam" way of thinking. mark was right when he said a game should strive conscious gameplay, as a fellow poe1 zoomer i have to admit that after playing poe2 with non zoomer builds.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

why? this is a genuine question because for the life of me i dont understand why some people enjoy poe2 more than poe1. the graphics are better of course but everything else is better in poe1. poe2 still needs years to be on the same level as poe1.

Because POE2 offers something POE1 does not have: good engaging combat. Yes, it ends by the endgame, unfortunately, but it is there in the campaign. I leveled 6 chars through campaign because of that. Very good experience. POE1-like endgame: no sorry, don't want that.

ok i agree the campaign is good but thats not enough reason to prefer poe2. end game is just like in poe,1 click builds. 90%+ are heralds or spark on some temporalis build thats even faster than a HH build in poe1.

You instantly walk back on your initial claim in your very first post. You are clearly not asking as serious question here, you're just looking to argue. It's very clear you have not put a lot of thought in to this, you're just looking to something to argue and be mad about.
I went back and played PoE1 again after 400 hours of PoE2 and had to quit. The combat isn't even remotely the same, and I don't see myself ever going back to it again. PoE2 will only get better from here on out. Just be patient.

no trolling please. private profiles will be ignored.

The form of mobility feels far superior, the light simplification of the Gem system feels great, and removes a huge pain in changing gear that PoE1 has. The support limitation forces some creative interactions. And I prefer the flask / charm system PoE2 presents. And while it needs work in details, I prefer the Atlas in PoE2, that they are maps, not abstractions of places.

from mobility it feels superior..please explain,...because on a bare naked char in act1 poe1 it already feels faster than end game char in poe2... and why would you prefer life and mana over 5 flasks? this is so much less power i cant even tell you...

You just described precisely why PoE2 is better. Less power and speed is better.
