Serious question for people who enjoy poe2 more than poe1

PoE 2 is simplier and slower. I don't need to study for about month in order to craft my own viable build. I loved PoE 1 back in 2013-2014 when it was like that. I don't mind zoom-zoom if the game is not balanced around them which sadly happened in PoE 1 and I hope it will not hapen in 2. I also don't mind grind. I grew on games where grind was not just the endgame but also most of the gameplay.

Hard to compare a 12 years old game pumped full of content and a 2 months old ea with not even full release. But the foundation is better in poe2. Better movement, skill system, traders and so on. No bloating cause it's new, which was poe1 biggest flaw.
I don't need a degree to play the game. After 12 years I want also something new.
The Endgame is just a stand in as they said. Will probably not be the same on full release.

People need to remember what poe1 looked the first 2 months. Hot garbage.
If the forums were a mediaval court, it would be filled with jesters and doomsayers
I hate that all viable poe1 endgame chars end with screen-blitzing so much that less then 1% of monsters matters...
Not a PoE1 veteran here. My brother is, though.
Well, there are many points here:

1. Progression. I don't know why exactly, maybe it's because of 10+ years of PoE 1 development, but I just can't get into the game. I feel like I have to use PoB in the first game. In the sequel, I hadn't use a single build guide until T7 maps were released. Like, I've started an archer but switched to crossbows mid-campaign. After finishing act 6, I entered the endgame with my build, and it was... Well, good, actually. I was using only physical crossbow skills. I didn't die very often and the whole experience was so smooth for me. If I didn't know something, I just used the in-game search feature, and everything was fine. I have a feeling that I'm playing the game myself, making a build that works without any impact from external parties.

2. Spectacle. The graphics in PoE2 is much better. I'm not talking about amounts of polygons or something. It's about how it feels. The fact that you can use skills while moving, the quality of animations on characters and monsters... After PoE 2, every other aRPG seems so clunky to me. Moreover, in the entire PoE 1 campaign and maps, there is only 1 scene that I truly felt. It's in Act 3 then you get to Dominus (final boss), and you leave a tower for a second, and there is rain pouring from the sky. I had moments like this in almost every location in Act 1 and Act 3 in PoE 2, and sometimes in Act 2. I also have these moments on maps. The layouts are just beautiful. And sure, the Maven boss fight location is awesome, but there is just not enough of it in "mundane" activities in PoE 1.

3. Potential. When I think about PoE 1, I feel like the train is just gone. There is not enough reason for me to put more than 200 hours into the game. Not because it's bad, but because the fun per hour ratio is better in PoE 2. Both games, I assume, will take thousands of hours to understand in a respectable manner. But due to technical limitations, I feel like PoE 1 isn't worth spending 1000+ hours into anymore because I have PoE2 now. Sure, PoE 1 in its current state is better, but over time, I doubt many people will play it because many of those will pick up the sequel eventually.

why? this is a genuine question because for the life of me i dont understand why some people enjoy poe2 more than poe1. the graphics are better of course but everything else is better in poe1. poe2 still needs years to be on the same level as poe1.

no trolling please. private profiles will be ignored.

I played PoE1 for about an hour or less. The game is outdated AF. All people still playing it look to me like they got stockholm syndrom. I also watched how endgame looks in poe1 and it's a cookie clicker, not an arpg.

PoE2 is not perfect, but it has future. The campaign is worth more for me then all of poe1 provides. poe2 has great potentional, and i actually understand that they removed most of the features that made poe1 bloated and outdated and went back to their roots. So they will now build on top of that and create a great game. My role in this is being patient, play the game, don't get emotinaly invested and checking out updates and giving constructive feedback.

non meta builds exist in poe1 also..so how is poe2 better then? both games play meta builds...however every build feels better in poe1...meta or non meta

The slower more grounded combat i thoroughly enjoy vs the 1000apm gameplay of poe1 and its generally more accessible than poe1, the only reason i stopped playing poe2 is the endgame is hyper focused to be a very hardcore gameplay loop that is over punishing and needs to be reworked, once you learn the bs of poe1 you can get through it but i am not fighting the game itself to try enjoy it.

end game builds are the same in poe2. most builds are herald or spark or some temporalis build. nothing has changed. and yes you can play slow build but you can also play slow build in poe1...

so far nobody has given a proper reason why they like poe2 better....just as i thought. apart from steam numbers that are 80% bots, poe2 doesnt really have much goiing for it.

I mean if your not playing those builds its not the same but i can understand what your mean, ive been playing a build around glacial bolt, the skill is a bit clunky and can be annoying at times to use but its been fun and its slow and chunky explosions also not having to rely on a build guide and just kinda figuring things out through playing which i wasnt able to do in poe1.

I will say alot of the mechanics and systems in the game need alot of work and i can see why you could have this mindset but it does try maintain a slower pace comparatively to its predecessor but it does have alot of bad systems and rough edges that are probably going to take a while to be changed.
