Beware Astramentis Stellar Amulet scammers - Its GGGs fault i think

THIS happens in POE 1 and people there also say this is an issue:

Now with POE 2 you would think that this issue would have been resolved.

Its not,

Thus,

ITS WORKING AS INTENDED.

I don't really agree that victims can't be blamed. If you leave your wallet on the bus it's on you when you don't get it back and someone has your money.

The scammers are still bad but players have responsibility for their items.

Except when currency is STOLEN due to actual counterfeit, it's a programmable fix. It may not be responsible but since it's an electronic environment, such an occasion can be made impossible. Since, you know, on a real bus you could get stabbed, but that's not how games work. Games can put up sensible guard rails when they don't want something to happen. Literally can delete items causing problems, improve the trading interface, or even revamp entire trade systems. It's on the developer and moderators to read these suggestions. The early access forum isn't just for us to chat.

But excessive guardrails also start to cause issues on the other end: they sometimes reduced flexibility so much or add so much friction that legitimate trades start to suffer.

And you said it yourself: this is a videogame. You get scammed for some divines doesn't mean you'll starve to death. If anything, getting scammed in-game might prevent you from getting scammed in real life...

There should be a compromise between allowing freedom and flexibility, and being too lax and allowing bad scams to happen.
IMO GGG already did a great job regarding preventing these types of scams: you have to hover over all items, which will show the tooltip. It's not a lot of friction, but it's enough so that you can't inadvertedly accept a wrong trade...

PS: You can inadvertedly accept a wrong trade if you willingly NOT look at your trade, or if you go into a trade without the proper knowledge of what you're buying...

I was the one who opened this topic and after this scam I really got fed up with the game. I am just looking at this post I wrote and I read all the comments. I dare everyone who says "this is a user error" and that "you should have paid attention to the shape" to search "Astramentis Stellar Amulet" on the trade site and buy the unidentified one. Because I did exactly the same. Just searched the site as "Astramentis Stellar Amulet" and I checked the shape aswell. Don't say you could tell by the price. Suppose someone listed 200+ divines as unidentified.

why is there such a situation in this specific amulet when you can safely buy all the other uniques in unidentified form? This is obviously a vulnerability and scammers are using this vulnerability. And I believe GGG is the one who should fix this vulnerability, not the user's attention!

Lol noob
Even if true, scammers shouldn't be given the capability to prey on noobs. Fix it. Or people here can offer a solution. Anyone with a brain can do better than just shaming.

Sorry, but if you are unable to look at the item and see if it is the right one... it's a you problem.

There are safety measures in place. You have to hover over the item (looking at it) and then "ACCEPT" the trade. So YOU confirmed it's the right one.

And the "but noobs get scammed" argument is not really good, "Astramentis" is around 280div atm and was always expensive through out the months.
Noobs are unable to gain that amount of currency (excluding extreme luck and RMT).

If you search for "Astramentis", you can see the item's appearance on the trade site. So, if the item in your trade window looks different, it's not the right one. It's that simple.

A "market place" where ppl can sell/buy items without direct human interaction would be obviously better, but that's not on the menu atm.
Imagine getting upset about getting scammed when you were trying to trade for an item at less than 50% market value. You were thinking about the profits and lost sight of what matters. Just face it. You went into the trade thinking "Im going to buy this astra from this idiot for 100div, jokes on him he doesn't know its worth 300div HA". Then you got scammed and it was well deserved. bye
