they just can't because NZ hiring laws are stupid BS

but they also apparently can't spin up a subsidiary outside of NZ to take over PoE1 development so the team can focus on their actual passion project of PoE2

guess GGG is more broke than we thought

the first ARPG I played after Diablo, I remember almost nothing about the story, but fighting monsters from mythology was very incredible at the time
You literally swore that PoE2 would not interfere with PoE1. Where those promises now?!? Wtf ggg?
RIP poe, its was nice while it lasted. I don't hate POE 2 but other than graphics, its inferior to poe 1 in every aspect. i don't get it, poe is a very polish game with a lot of fun mechanics, they should have used the best of poe 1 and add to that. what they used from poe 1 are shells of the original mechanics. ritual, expedition and delirium are crap in poe 2 and i don't know why. the ball was rolling already, why taking polish mechanics and make them bad again. its going to take at least 2 years for poe 2 to get even close to poe 1

Its almost like they didn't learn anything in 10 years of poe 1 and had to start from 0 in poe 2. poe 2 atlas is an aberration, and maps are so bad is not even funny. trials are mega bad and balance between classes and skills is non existent.

i hope they make it but this smells bad. with such a road map like poe 1 already stablished there is no excuse to have such and incomplete and primitive version of poe 2. Worse late game than D4. but hey, casuals are loving it so knock your self out. lets see how long that last without the loyal from poe 1..

To all you POE2 fanboys, you should feel bad defending this. They released a game that needs considerable work and charged you $30 to playtest it for them. (I got my copy for free because I invested so much in the original)

They continuously lied about POE1's next patch not being impacted by POE2; it's not "transparency" if they only tell us when the next patch is supposed to be featured. That's called making excuses and leaning on good will.

If they're fine lying to the community about this and being consistently unresponsive to the player base the entirety of POE2's EA (rampant nerfs, no buffs, hackers stealing thousands of divines), you really think that they're going to keep their promises about POE2's future?

Johnathan and GGG have no credibility now; POE1 isn't getting a 3.26. We'll be lucky if they leave the servers up. RIP POE1, good luck POE2 boys.
It is one thing be transparent and another to take advantage of people's appreciation for transparency and use that as a catalyst to misdirect.

PoE1 was a great journey and should be a big school for PoE2, but no lessons were learnt and instead you are moving backwards, in a diablo like way.

As an early access supporter of PoE1, I really do miss the old days of Chris and Bex.

NZ hiring laws aren't really an issue, I work for a tech company, we have multiple subsidaries (us and aus) and we have employees working for both. We also have got a lot of engineers in through sponsored visas.

Additionally we outsource part of our black box testing to companies overseas without an issue

We have security constraints applied to the export and development of encryption software and its still fine.

They choose to only hire local
