A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

Thanks for the update. I appreciate. I'd sooner you give a quality update rather than a botched rush-job.

Inquisitor Martyr lets you access all previous leagues atm, maybe something like that until you fix things.

I don't think it was such an obvious choice, to go for PoE1 first and then fix 2. On one hand, you have your word and timeline you set, but a playable game with a content heavy league, on the other you have a new game and a billion of complaints. The reception now is "it's beta, it's obvious it will be broken" , which is hilarious, given the almost two months worth of forum meltdowns, and treating it exactly like a finished product, calling people who point it's only EA shills included.

I'm not putting blame on players, but don't use this argument please, the reception sure wasn't take your time it's beta, it was fix your endgame, scrap the maps and do new ones, now or this is doomed, threats of review and yt bombing, in general mass hysteria. Just the other day, there was a thread on how performance needs to be fixed, with one guy complaining about drops to 40 (in endgame) and the other to 70 (!!!), for a 0.1 version, the standards are insane and that goes for almost all aspects of it.

As for the video, the timing of it is so bad it's actually funny, and lends truth to what is said. At least appreciate that, that it might be pure truth after all.

Also, PoE 2 is often called objectively bad in this thread, but I'd say it's objectively great with great graphics, mood, sound, skills, depth, lot of content (yes, as evidenced by people complaining there's nothing to do after 300h heh), ok performance (except console maybe). Now obviously different from 1, not perfect yet and with room to decide on its direction, but whether you think the direction itself is good or not is a subjective matter.

Quick word to people who want PoE 1 to die, why would you destroy a game that in some aspects might never be matched, with some much resources and maybe even love poured into it, all the maps acts music places bosses possibilities, I mean no nostalgia there? Because that would be a sad, sad day.

Last but not least, if you need PoE 1 so much, it's there to play. I have a whole graveyard of HC SSF necro characters and it's been great fun (except deaths heh). I tend to play HC SSF Ruthless quite often and really enjoy the solitude, having the whole game to myself, it's like being alone on the mountain. Go play, why do you need to be fed content after 10 years of content after all, there's ton of it already in, plus half of 2 to play.

It's a feckin' free game. Enjoy what's available or play something else while you wait. Have some perspective.

Making 2 games seperate was the worst decision you ever took. For hideouts, there is almost nothing in PoE2 early access, and for MTX, %95 of them do not even work. You put yourself in the swamp "yourselves", and now saying sorry? I do not take it. Instead, I have a question. When was the last time you made an official Hideout Showcase of the month?

Especially if you are someone going into a huge investment for a game like this, like "me", uncertainties actually kind of hammer my future. I started thinking about cancelling ironhideout.net, designed for soon to be the best hideout site ever.

My question is, will you be able to pull it or will I spend my thousand dollars for nothing? I expect a GGG team answer...

Its almost comical to not even do any sort of relaunch. Any old league. Endless Delve Event. Some shit.

Yeah for sure that 1-2 weeks of some devs working on it will be missing in POE2 so bad it will delay patches for weeeeeks and months... such a bad decision.

Thanks for your honesty. However, I had hopes that we would atleast have a form of cushion to soften the blow. Re-run of Events, Economy Reset, or even a Legacy League.

It's a punch in the gut at the moment. A pain us the community will find hard to swallow. Here's hoping we can relive the good old days of consistent league cycles in the far future.

I feel bad for PoE1 fans, but from my perspective PoE1 was terse, slow, complicated and mostly unfun. I am thrilled that you are focusing on the superior game (in my opinion). I hope you are able to jump back and push out content for the old game, but I am all but certain that it has nothing approaching the playerbase PoE2 has garnered in its early access period. I am sure it is hard for GGG to justify putting resources towards a small but dedicated audience. THis isnt remotely uncommon. D3 is now recycling old seasons, while D4 is in active development.
