A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

It's been said many times, many ways, but i want o add to the count, in the vain hope that enough pressure and comment will change priorities.

Please do not abandon PoE1... I tried PoE2, it's fun but it is by design a different game, a game I am not super interested in playing, I like the aesthetic, feel, and design decisions behind PoE1 and would love to keep playing it. So many lessons PoE2 forgot from PoE1 growth and development, but putting that aside they are different games, and i personally have a favourite.

I've been worried about this since PoE2 was announced please do not let my worries truly become reality!

3.26 will come eventually. I don't know how successful it will be by that time. There are other games out there and our attention won't last forever. Not to mention our good will.

The issue is not that though. It's that PoE 2 requires at least 2-3 more years of intense development. And that's a conservative estimate considering what's missing. So unless GGG hires a lot more people (raising costs significantly) we're going to have the same thing happening again and again as the entire company focuses on PoE 2 and works on PoE in their... spare time.

Unfortunately no plan on how the games will coexist was announced. That's because there doesn't seem to be one. That doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Please at least give us a reset so we have a reason to go back in and grind. It doesn't even have to be new content.

It's sad to see a great studio now stand on the shoulders of someone who couldn't even be asked to be honest throughout several interviews and months.

To say as a whole the community is disappointed might be far. But from the reactions not by much.

I sincerely hope they replace leadership and stop prioritizing an EA an uncomplete product before an existing game with a large player base.

They could've lit. had us play re-runs of all old leagues, once every 3 months. Put 1 guy on it. And it would've been enough.

(many play standalone, so no, Steam-numbers don't do it justice)

But they think they can starve out players to remain on a broken EA by neglecting and disrespecting their own players like this. All to gratify 100k bored Diablo players. All it will do is kill their EA and the original game.

we'll see how long it takes before someone launches a private ripped IP and overtakes them. My guess is that that is when Jonathan is kicked downstairs again.

I'll enjoy the SSF experience in 1 meanwhile. But damn if the prodigy didn't dumpsterdive right now.

Takes a lot of guts to admit you're wrong to the internet sometimes. Glad this company has the backbone to do that. I hate to see abandon ware. Especially when there's so much love for it still.

PoE2 made me respect and yearn for the next poe1 patch and some blasting. Now hope is dwindling farther and farther.

I'm kinda heartbroken tbh. I love PoE1 so much, and I don't care for PoE2 very much at all (at least in it's current state). I genuinely didn't think this would happen because you guys told us that it wouldn't, but I fully understand why it is. IDK man, try to do better I guess.
