The ''get lucky to have fun'' needs to be changed
I still haven't found a part of this game that is not lucky based, like slot machines.
My weapon and gear will be good if I am lucky with the drops. My stats from orbs will be good if I am lucky with the rolls. My map will be good if I am lucky whith the affixes. My skill will be a 6 link if I am lucky enough to get a perfect jeweler's orb. I might be able to trade a perfect jeweler's orb if I am lucky with the currency drops. I might defeat the bosse from Ritual if I am lucky to get the invitation. I might ascend if I am lucky with the afflictions in the Trial of Sekhema. If not, I might ascend through Trial of Chaos... If I am lucky with the afflictions and if the wind in form of tornado is in my favour. I could keep going, but I think you understand. Slot machines are addictive in a bad way. Is that the goal of this game? To get people addicted to that kind of gambling? Because it is hard for me to find something isn't a chance to have a chance to get something in the game. I have read some people saying that ''this is what an ARPG is about''. Excuse me? I don't remember liking an ARPG just because everything was just a possibility, I like ARPGs because you can slowly craft your build to avoid the possibilities and the lucky based content by crushing it. You've got the best art I have seen for an ARPG in the last 15+ years. Please, don't make it look just like a luxury casino. The artistic direction of this game deserves much, much more than that. Yep the "vision" is having thousands of people hooked on gambling addictions over actually good game design. The joke is that there is no joke.

I agree theres too much RNG.

the worst part is seeing all these people with 200 divines spending it on omens to rng the best gear.
how did they get 200 divines in the first place? can someone please investigate if they are doing RMT? |
|
200 divines is likely still not RMT territory, you could get there by just regularly and persistently selling loot you picked up.
Which is what I think is wrong with this game. Trading being a core part of the experience is fine, but trading being the main gatekeeper or facilitator of gearing is not fine. It directly contradicts the whole existence of this genre. We should have a healthy loot drop experience, and trading is only used to supplement it. But we currently have it the other way round: trading is the main way to gear, and loot drops is what you use to supplement your trades. |

Saw a crafting video where they were trying to reroll one stat. Used like 15 omens and then looked up the price of the omen to find out it was 10div. Spent another 5 omens for the last stat. 200 divine to get a single stat? I dunno how folks are expected to "craft" if this is the cost of things at end game.

Maybe the OP downloaded an ARPG by accident, but RNG is the fundamental core of this type of game. If its not what you like in a game, I suggest seeking out a different type of game where its not a foundational aspect.
By no means do I think they have balance, or crafting dialed in but thats beta for you, but yeah its going to be some flavor of this no matter how they dial it. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. " You're not expected to do this not even close. Its a thing you CAN do that is give or take hundreds or thousands of times higher investment or "min max" than what is necessary to do all content. Perhaps even tens of thousands of times more than is necessary. I know it sounds crazy but in some cases it might actually be hundreds of thousands of times more currency investment than is required. Its hard to quantify exactly because we could be talking about the difference between an OP solo self found try hard like Ben beating all content with a couple exalts worth of gear, versus some ludicrous 10 mirror tier item equipped standard character. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

" This is not a beta, it is a paid early access to a product. You need to educate yourself and it isn't hard, Google is there. You are one search and around 10 minutes of reading away from knowing the difference. That being said, sure, I understand that ARPGs need some kind of RNG tied to them, but this game is all about RNG. Every aspect of the game is completely tied to your luck. You don't get to choose anything, like, nothing at all. You folks are trying to protect this game from critics, as if the majority of players were happy about its current state. Read around, check YouTube, check Reddit: a ton of people have a lot of negative things to say about the game because it is in a really, really bad state right now. They are not solving stuff fast enough and people are getting used to a lot of the problems, so they will complain once changes are made and that will bring confusion to the developers. Diablo 4 is a game that became as bad as it is right now because of the white knights protecting the game from critics, just like a lot of PoE players are doing now. Don't let this be the next ''D4 bad''. |

" There will be 'skill issues' low iq people coming to reply this later. Please, get a brain before you say 'skill issues' again. It shows how low your intelligence is. |
