Allow socketing of corrupted items

Mostly agree...however, if items that DROP corrupted had a higher than normal chance to naturally have the maximum number of sockets (pre-corruption), that might make them feel at least not completely useless.

Could help the corruption shrines feel not so bad either.
How exactly the topic isn't equally relevant to quality?
If you're replying to me, I'd be fine with naturally dropping items having a higher chance to start at max quality too :D

I think a better solution would be to provide all items with max quality and sockets.
I mean, what's even the point of applying these nearly free orbs to every new item?

uh....exactly what you described? That's the point.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

naturally dropping corrupted items, I should have re-specified.
Ok so it appears the people saying corrupted means corrupted have completely ignored the post. What is the fundamental value of the trial rewards if 100% of the items given are useless? if they cannot be crafted they should not be in the game as a reward

Then wouldnt a better solution be trial master rewards aren't corrupted? Rather than changing the corruption mechanic- but just in this one special case.

As the title says i do not think it would be bad or detrimental to allow players to socket corrupted items. The shrines that corrupt items and trials of chaos pretty much are just pointless rewards no one takes or uses due to the fact that they are always bad and even if you get one that is workable it may not have a socket so its bricked off the get go. I know POE 1 had an item i believed called tainted oil that allowed modifications to corrupted items but POE 2 does not have that even though the option exists.

Now i mean it may come later as things progress but as of right now corrupted items have no use dropping and should not even exist in the games current state.

Ideally adding a function to allow socketing a corrupted item as a band aid fix like how the flask break down is also a band aid to a later implementation would add benefits to the trials and shrines that corrupt.

The trials reward system is horrendous due to this glaring issue. You could quite literally remove the item rewards and just make the bosses drop a soul core and it would be the exact same situation we are currently in.

I guess you new comer, anyway there is currencies in POE1 that modified the socket numbers colors and links but the suffixs and prefixs (mods).
- Tainted Jeweller's Orb: item that adds or removes a socket on a corrupted item
- Tainted Chromatic Orb: reforges the colour of sockets
- Tainted Orb of Fusing: item that unpredictably adds or removes a link to the largest group of linked sockets on a corrupted item.
- Last and not least Crafting Bench with Vaal Orbs.
