Chaos orbs suck big time, they are not random.
I have used chaos orbs on 4-5 items and I wish I would've recorded them as every single one was replaced with a Tier 1 (lowest) mod. They should just remove them from the game if the devs are going to blatantly weight the mods to roll garbage and basically remove the RNG factor.

Hate them. Worst crafting orb ever.

" In Last Epoch, you had higher chance of ruining high Tier mod. It was by design that way and to be expected. Considering how much they stole from that game, I would not be surprised if they implemented something of this sort. |

Chaos orbs ARE random, thats the problem.
Lets face it, if you get a rare that has NONE of the rolls you want, you're just going to reforge it or DE it so the item is at least somewhat desirable. with that established, you've got an item with some of the rolls you want, but you need it to be better to replace your current item that is 20-30 levels below you. lets say 2 of the mods are what you want, 2 are ok and 2 are doo-doo. You want to change one of the doo-doo ones but your odds breakdown is 33%/33%/33%: 33% chance to brick, 33% chance to get rid of an OK and get something better OR worse and 33% chance to change a doo-doo to something better OR get another doo-doo mod. I've tried using chaos orbs a couple of times and it never turned out well...when I look at it like its described above the odds are TERRIBLE to get a positive outcome. Best use is probably for currency. |

" The security in Omens is entirely pseudo. Even if you have a 5/6 perfect item. Getting the last mod to become perfect as well could cost you well THOUSANDS of divines in Whittlings, etc. Such are the odds even when you're attempting to Omen a mod. Goes to show how badly the investment of a single Chaos into a decent item is, unless you're doing it for the meme. You might as well play the literal lottery thinking you'll certainly win next time. |
