One Death Maps is a monumental failure.
" You're talking about a community quote on people that are left, it's not very intelligent to ask people who are still there and not the people who left the game. It's the most unintelligent form of community vote i can think of if your goal is to understand how people react on punishments in the game. |

Not sure how you can claim they had fun and left and things are healthy. Not sure how you can claim the game lost players due to this problem, either.
But I know why my friends left. It wasn't fun. For one reason or another it wasn't fun for them. Most didn't finish campaign. They didn't like the fact that they simply didn't get upgrades. Others left due to endgame. I don't know why the rest of the 300k players left. |

" Ok. This is really exhausting so I end with this reply. Yeah I a red it. It's the same nonsense as another "remove 1 portal" threads. People think they came with something new/creative/good but it's still the same over and over again. The problem is in this approach. Players try to bash their heads against the wall even if everything tells them it's pointless. They do it here on forum and they do it in the game - that's why they constantly die, lose progress and hate one death per map (or xp loss on death). PoE has very simple rule - if you run into obstacle then find a way how to overcome it. One portal per map is obvious obstacle in our way to harder content or higher level and our goal is to find a way to overcome it. Bitching on forums and demands its removal is not the PoE way. It not works like that. Just accept it and move on or move away. Very very simple. Last edited by Sakanabi#6664 on Jan 20, 2025, 3:58:55 PM

"Problem. The patch didn't bring the number back up. In fact, it stayed steady. That implies that no, they left and are LIKELY gone for good. That's not good. Even PoE has spikes whenever a patch or League drops. But PoE2 isn't. GGG needs to figure out why or they could be launching a dead game if the number drops. If it doesn't, but also doesn't increase, another thing to look into. |

" Discontentment is a powerful engine, my dear friend. It even makes empires fall. So, 'bashing a head against a wall' is always the perspective of those who want nothing to be changed. |

" I never said, they left for a specific reason. I initially asked: "Is there any effort GGG spends in understanding their player loss and adjusting motivational counter strategies?" |

" it is funny seeing people who only play like POE1 bashing people who came because they marketed this game different from POE1, please tell me how a evasion ranger can win in simulacron when a rare boss with immortality appear? your 20 divine build doesn't help, currently the game sucks about mobs damage, so good lucky seeing that there is no way to make your survivability better unless you go ES showing that they really never thought much about how the scaling and damage works. while some people are really wrong this is fundamentally the problem of one shotting people, the endgame damage need to be revised if you don't die because of off screen spell you die because sonner or later a white mob that can hit 3k can kill you. |

" What ??? Are you saying Pong, Tetris, Mario, Zelda, Warcraft, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, and so much more games are failure because you aren't playing them yet again and right now ? You don't need demotivational elements to stop playing a game. Only you are demotivated because you die and you hate the associated punishment ; while it is only core design of this specific game. |
