No game is 'healthy' when it fails to motivate players to stay. So, what are the demotivational elements in the game that make them leave?

GGG desperately tries to recall them by providing new content via leagues, but as soon as people hit the endgame, the player base vansishes again, that's about 30 days into each league. Again: A game that doesn't provide a motivation endgame can not be called 'healthy'.

in poe1 leagues where the day 1 concurrent steam players were about 200k chris said several million individual people actually played in the league over its duration.


the day 1 concurrent steam players for poe2 were 580k. so how many million actually played the league so far in total?





and how many million are in this thread asking for 1 portal mechanic to be removed?

people not playing at the same time isnt the same as losing them.


many people make sure to turn up for league launch and all play at the same time on day 1. no one is making sure they turn up to play at the same time as the rest of the community on a tuesday 6 weeks after launch. doesnt mean they quit the game.

every poe league had about half its launch concurrency after a month. then the next league had more players than the last, so it never actually 'lost' players the game gained players every league.


this is how league cycles work, ggg want players to drop off after a month and then come back for the next league. that is the design.









people just need to start posting their opinion, this is what i think about the game and why i think it. done.

the whole thing of "...and everyone agrees with me and if you dont do exactly what i say you are terrible devs who dont understand how to make a game and everyone agrees with me and the game will fall apart and make 0 money and the pattern of player concurrency on league launch that we can see over the last 12 years is proof that the game will die if you dont do everything im demanding right now and patch it in the next 2 weeks or im gonna quit and everyone will quit and the entire world will fall apart!!!"


yeah i just dont think its true or in any way helpful? no one with sense, certainly no dev is reading all that nonsense and taking it seriously for a second. it just detracts from what could be a valid point if people just say hey, this is what i think about the game.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
