if GGG doesnt act im betting the game reviews will start to tank. youtube videos then will be made and it will escalate VERY quickly.
helldivers 2 saw the same thing happen because the devs had there own vision how people should play. and they certainly have the right to do so. but they just might be seriously unprepared for the #$%^ storm that the internet can whip up.
*rubs hands together*
This is already entertaining to me.

The amazing part of that story is that they eventually listened and they made a great comeback. Even though they did that, the initial experience was bad enough that I will never play it again so it would be in GGGs interest to get ahead of this BEFORE it happens.
Still, i'm glad that Helldivers listened to their playerbase and managed to pull out of their tailspin.

That's just modern terrorism.

while a little hyperbolic, your not wrong.
however why has customer response become so aggressive? in my opinion its because people are fed up with not being listened too, being treated as a resource to milk every penny from, and games being rushed with bugs, less features etc.
while not all of these pertain to poe2 i think its the reason people are fighting back.

Or people think that they must be listened to. That they have authority to change everything they want and instead of providing feedbacke they are making demands. Then they act like spoiled child when they did not get what they wanted.

How about the 2nd ****storm after they act, yt videos and bad reviews about game going banal, play while watch netflix, lowest common denominator affair.
Or the 3rd ****storm by people who don't want mob and boss reset on death, just click to relax and never loose.
Or any other ****storm for changes you maybe wouldn't like. Mob mentality where convenient, but I bet not good where against your preferences.
Game design is not a democracy, well maybe it is for Helldivers but they kind of asked for it heh. There is a graveyard of great, deep and original game ideas trampled by what you describe somewhere.

Don't be a pepega and you won't die.
Using a single brain cell means the only thing you ever die to is massive lagspikes.
This post reminds me of that journo who said that Spongebob Bikini Bottom is "unforgivingly brutal":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV5lNMkn8Ok
Lol. Who do you think you're kidding?
Volatile plants exists. Getting surrounded by white mobs and not being able to dodge roll out exists. Getting pushed into a corner by mobs and same result exists. Getting hit by crits exists. Getting frozen and then killed while frozen exists. Coalesced corruption can spawn on you and destroy you, that exists. Zarokh has a 1-shot mechanic that is RNG-based as to whether you have enough movement speed to collect them where they spawn. Breaches can annihilate you in this game. Expeditions can easily spawn monsters that are ridiculously overtuned. Many bosses in the game have combos and telegraphs that feel majorly unfair for the "fat" dodge roll we have in this game that actively hampers your movement speed in between rolls and is best sparingly used, if that.
I could go on. All these things exist.
And you're talking down to people comparing them to a game journo who complained about Spongebob: Bikini Bottom.
Insulting and rude. Totally uncalled for. Not to mention fundamentally incorrect.
Straight advertisment, I want to play now.

Amazing, as in how they went from a toxic ride through hell and back to a fkn picnic? I'm low level and got back after the "great comeback", and found that diff level 8 ("impossible" heh) was suddenly a walk in a park, no matter the weapon and enemy, nothing is scary anymore really etc. I remember checking out the feedback from playerbase they listened to as well, turned out it was a bunch of "I want to have fun and blow stuff after work not fight for my life", "diff 6 too hard", "I can't kill that" kind of wailing, not much different to what happens here.
Banal, homogenized, mediocre, pop, the ultimate fate of games with large playerbase where devs listen.

Yeah I really hate the one death thing. The 10% XP pentalty was bad enough with POE1 and would often make me lose interest and quit the league. One death on maps just feels bad.
If GGG likes this idea so much, and there are people who seem to enjoy the challenge, let them introduce a new currency type that can be crafted on to maps or slotted into the little map quad thing. One death but the risk increases the reward somehow. That way people can skip it if they aren't interested.
