heres the issue, any time you have to ruin immersion by alt tabbing out of a game to do something ingame, is a fundamental failure of the devs.

so, how do you fix trading so you never have to alt tab to trade items, without an auction house. there is never a reason to alt tab out of a game for an ingame action that isnt a direct failure of the dev team.

at a minimum the poe 2 trade website should be an npc in the game, that gives you the items and name of the ppl online that have them and the price for them so you can msg ppl ingame without alt tabbing, that would be ok too. but yea, alt tabbing out of a game to trade is 100% a colossal failure.

Gotta say after switching to ps5 from pc, im hating trading and would love to be able to direct buy through an npc or marketboard type system.

The current system sucks. Having to interact with someone who may or may not be on right now is a pain. Also, having to stop what I am doing to complete a trade is bothersome.

How about a compromise. Keep it the same vis a vis the trade site but have the object go into a vault that just gets transferred when you pay, online, so that we don't have to do it in-game.

Otherwise, for me at least, trade is useless.

Current state of tradr reminds me TF2 trading in 2013 before all kind of validations Valve implemented. It is more healthier for game if auction house will be automated and inside the game. Price fixer will be gone, trading "wrong"/flipped items will be gone.
Even RMT could poteancialy take a hit if the steam market will be added to the game.

I am convinced only botters and scammers enjoy the current trade system. Who in their right mind thinks it is fun to spend time searching for the right item, to message someone, just so they ignore you? Then start that process all over to have it keep happening. Who enjoys having people try swapping currency so they can scam you?


That's right, scammers and bots are the only ones who enjoy a system like this.

think about it befor wanting something to change.

you say its unfun to search for the right item. this wont change with any automatism.

you say its unfun to be ignored after whispering somebody. thats for sure because the item you want to buy is cheap, on expensive items people are replying. do you think an automated auction house would still hold cheap items for you? for sure not. all cheap or underpriced items would be instantly bought out by livesearching people or bots. whats left for you are expensive or overpriced items.

you say people try to scam you. yes, that happens, it sucks, scammers should be not in the game. right now we have the tool to make sure we are not getting scammed and i think 95% of scams are avoided by people looking at the item in the trade window. in an antomated auction house, things would be worse obviously. dont think bots and scammers would be gone with automatism, they would profit far more of any automatism than the average player searching for 2 items a day.

on top, every new or unexperienced player that isnt able to price their stuff properly would be scammed everytime without even noticing it. priced a 10div item for 10 exalts? right now you get a wakeup by 50 whispers. with automatism the item is gone in 3 seconds, you are literaly scammed by the auction house. and you wont even get a chance of learning to price.

you really want that?

Cant they just make the trade system similar to the currency exchange?

Instant trading without having to whisper anyone and wait for a response. The seller wont have to quit what they're doing to answer the 50 whispers or not respond at all. The seller will have to price the item properly and not fish for more orbs after the fact.

It would be faster and more efficient overall.
