Please do NOT add an Auction House

Please GGG, don't listen to the tourists demanding an in-game auction house. PoE's trade system is unique from all other games and is far more enjoyable than all those games with auction houses. These new players just have to adapt to and learn trading in a style they haven't experienced before.
I already saw Jonathan caving in to auction house demands in the recent Q&A stream, he might as well have confirmed it after being asked about it because he said something like "we'll look into it". PoE trade has all kinds of benefits and traits to it that do not exist in auction house systems. For example if you underpriced an item, you can change your mind about selling it for too little after getting spammed by countless whispers - in an auction house you would lose the item immediately. Another is being able to set up live alerts and snipe great deals. And whatever happened to your own decade long belief that trade has to exist this way so that people see other players hideouts, otherwise there's no point in hideout customization? I will tell you something: We definitely need an Auction House. 🤡 Current trading is already ruined. Either they change something in the current trading system or they build an auction house because that’s the only way. Their not going to add a Auction House, they just added the closest thing to an Auction House. If anything they will add more tools to use in game to help you message through their website.

You posters coping that people defending the PoE trade system "are in charge of the market" are just tourists. Learn to play the game, adapt. It should not change to suit your wishes.
We have been using this trade system for 12 years and there is nothing wrong with it, its never been an issue. And I am having no problem finding the items I want right now either. We absolutely do not need an auction house and adding one would ruin the games trading completely. "If you don’t know the basic of commerce then you should not engage in any discussion about trading or auction house" says the guy who does not know the basics of commerce and is unwilling to learn. |

" heres the issue, any time you have to ruin immersion by alt tabbing out of a game to do something ingame, is a fundamental failure of the devs. so, how do you fix trading so you never have to alt tab to trade items, without an auction house. there is never a reason to alt tab out of a game for an ingame action that isnt a direct failure of the dev team. at a minimum the poe 2 trade website should be an npc in the game, that gives you the items and name of the ppl online that have them and the price for them so you can msg ppl ingame without alt tabbing, that would be ok too. but yea, alt tabbing out of a game to trade is 100% a colossal failure. " I would be fine with trade being an in-game system but it should work with the same fundamentals: you whisper the trader you want an item from, and its that players choice if they want to sell it or not. It just has to work like PoE trade, it doesn't have to actually be on a browser website. An auction house type system with no player interaction would be far worse for the game than what we've had for over a decade and enjoyed the whole time. |

" The basic of commerce? tell me how your illustrious skills in commerce and trade would help you if you went to a store and brought something to the till but just as you hand your 1$ the person at the till says... actually I want 100x times the listed price because you grabbed that dollar to fast. you're basing "trade and commerce" like how real life would be and this system is not how trading works irl. you don't set the price after someone agrees to buy the listed price.. |
