Game is dropping like a stone

End game terrible systems are killing the game

There is no End-game. It's early access.

Your expectations are what's killing the game for you.

It's dropped about 150k on averaged median curve BEFORE going into xmas.

Educate yourself on statistics and trajectories, and averages over time through comparable time markers.

Don't really need to educate on anything here. You're reading steamcharts. It's not a science.

That being said, I do agree with your conclusion. This early in the game's life, a start like that should see some acceleration and growth, especially leading into the holidays. I suspect that's why it was released before the holdiays as well, because otherwise it's a pretty dumb time to release a new game.

This game is falling off hard, and it's no secret why. The GAME is fun to play. The systems that govern progression/loot/character building are all pretty bad right now. There's way too much "vision" and way too many miserable, pointless anti-player design choices permeating the entire experience.

Player agency isn't there. Crafting is worthless. I don't have a reliable path to progress without a ton of gambling and grinding, and there are a lot of better things I could be doing with my time.
Guys, it's XMas Eve. I'm not logged in today because I'm visiting family on XMas. I suspect the same is true of a lot of people.May you also have better things to do than shitposting on a videogame forum.

All the best to you and yours. May you all have a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season, whatever holiday you celebrate 🥂.
Stay sane, exiles!

+ they really need to eat humble pie and abandon their 'vision'. All the major issues with the game stem from it.
end game is where they need to make things "difficult" to test the min/maxers builds and skills. there is no point in pushing people out of early game

thats the part of the game that is supposed to be "free" and everyone should be able to make it to "end game" with minimal skill/gear

the game is balanced backwards. the early game is to grindy/tough and the end game is just like poe1 zoomy and screen clearing builds that make everything to easy

sadly i think the game was designed purely for streamers from the top down. its why the put so much effort into the end game and why so many streamers only complain about the end game. and they gatekeeped the early game to keep non e streamers out.

thats how it feels anyway

If you could make it to endgame with no investment on backwards efficient builds, endgame would end up SO boring any player invested in the game would just quit.

One thing I don't understand is the timing of their EA release. Why do it right before Christmas if you're not gonna have staff on at all? I understand the need for vacations and all that. But why then not just wait till after the new year so you can keep updating it during its most critical state?

what does gate keeping early game serve?

they will just lose a ton of players who dont want to commit to the time grind to get to late game.

you cant have a healthy multiplayer game with trading.. without players

They pushed the start of EA back, it was supposed to launch in november before the delay

Oh It's gonna happen, I just really don't want them to realize it too late when everyone already has that bad first experience with the game. Losing your player's trust because of horrible anti-fun design can be devastating, good luck earning it all back. But it all depends on what the first few patches are, it's quite worrying that they just slightly nerfed Trials instead of disabling them to revisit ascendancy later as a mechanic. This tells me they are quite stubborn in their "Vision" and we're probably gonna see the scenario where GGG gets hit with the reality that most people don't want their time absolutely deleted by the game for no good reason.
