Please consider making SSF fully separated mode
" " Private Leagues do not count. A) They cost money. B) They are temporary. There's a duration, then you no longer have private league access. The only way selling private leagues could even begin to be justified, was if it was a permanent purchase. Buy private access, get the same standard league and current league functionality as live servers, in your private setting. C) Group Self Found would have its own ladder and everything, as Solo Self Found does. D) Sometimes the people you want to play with aren't guildmates or friends who would have joined a private server with you. Public Groups. A multiplayer self found server for playing public groups ala regular servers. We do not want private leagues, we want public multiplayer self found leagues. E) They still do not have the balance and looting adjustments needed to make up for the lack of the trading market. Last edited by The_Song#4903 on Dec 23, 2024, 2:07:33 AM

They will probably never do it because most everyone would abandon trade league completely. I know because this isn't a new idea, it was discussed to death already in 2013.

so people think if i dont want to trade, but do want to play with my partner i need to wait and then pay for a league on a regular basis for the next 10 years just to be able to play a game that isnt entirely balanced around trade?
dont be ridiculous. the current game state is not entire balanced around trade, at all, very far from it. the current game balance is a little off for ssf, and by a little i mean if they upped the base drop rate of alchs by about 200% i think the game would be completely fine right now. i do not think a buffed drop rate ssf is good for the game, at all. in 2013 when i started open beta if u gave me an option to lock myself away from everyone else in my own little world, but i got more loot, and told me if i wasnt planning on trading this was the option for me, id have HARD CLICKED IT. and then i would never have met all the beautiful people i met playing, my now 10 year old friendships, people in this game ive met irl, i got engaged to someone i met playing this game, i stayed and played 20k hours of poe1 the majority of that trading, loving trade, being part of the community and enhancing other peoples experience by being there to sell them items, buy their items, craft stuff and put it into the economy, enable mirror crafters and their ecosystems. me and my partner and close friends are now playing poe2 in a group found fashion. we will never trade outside of our circle of friends. i wouldnt even have most of these friends if it wasnt for trading in poe1. forcing us to play in bubbled where we cant interact with each others items would be a disaster. poe1 was built around a trade economy, that doesnt mean it was balanced around having to trade. poe2 is the same. i think the reality is that if you lot got an ssf mode most of the drop rates would stay the same and there would be more nerfs to the trade mode drop rates than buffs to your drop rates because the reality is that the devs think a level of scarcity is good for the game and there should be really rare outcomes that essentially never happen, but could happen. same with trade, game isnt designed around you needing to trade, its designed around the idea you can trade. you wont, but you can. thats where most people are at and thats where the balance is set. the devs have said that traders are a minority and the minority who trade only trade 2-5 times in a league, which has very very little impact lets be honest. thats where the balance is at. this thinking is based on some fantasy that an ssf mode would feel like harvest item printer go brrrrr mets wildwood divinarrhea. the reality is if they were gonna do that they would just do it in the main game, like they did in poe1. wildwood, perandus, harvest, many times they completely destroyed trade league to make an ssf loot fest. they aint holding back because of trade, weve seen that. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" that would be really bad for the game too. theres lots of reasons poe1 was the best arpg ever, but one of the biggest things that separated it from all the other arpgs was a 12 year robust item economy that spawned a core meta and community. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

+1
A lot of new players saying trading feels bad. They want to find upgrades instead or craft. I think best decision GGG can make is to create SSF as a separate mode, I expect it to be equal to standart league in terms of player base. This would be huge for them, otherwise new players will be leaving one by one slowly. I hate trading for upgrades myself as well, it feels so weird in a looter hack and slash game. I rather find my upgrades.. | |
I agree. I want to loot my stuff and make my stuff. I don't want to play trader simulator. I don't want to be thinking of all the loot I pick up in terms of how many exalts they're gonna fetch.

" " You can literally do this. Right now. SSF *IS* its own mode. " You're right, it's pretty crazy. It's much easier to just make trade characters and just agree to how you're going to do it together. "We'll only work with each other, got it?" " Yeah, this is asinine levels of entitlement then to believe another mode needs to exist for people who want ssf-but-not-really just so they can get better drop rates for the game. They can just, i don't know, do a drop rate pass which they probably will once more of the actual items for the game are implemented, such as spears and flails. Like, you're looking at 20% of the problem and deciding on 100% of the solution. Have enough awareness to understand that the current situation is going to drastically change a number of times as patches come, instead of ripping the guts out of SSF and creating your Frankenstein to appease your need for more loot, faster. |
