How does GGG plan to make money?

Never played POE1 but I know both games are F2P.

Does GGG expect to make money off of just cosmetics?

Or are there going to be content updates that we pay for in the future?

Just curious as how they make money off such a good base game.

Yes. Supporter packs and mystery boxes.

poe1 will probably be shut down in the near future to cut down on costs. they already pretty much abandoned it

There’s no paid expansions or such so pretty much all mtx/supporter packs.

What about content? Are the seasons stuck behind a paywall?

Yep they are going to shut down a game that has been bring them in $80 million a year, makes perfect sense.

that was before poe 2. if poe2 is successful they wont need poe1 anymore. why keep it alive if they dont have the staff to run it properly? they have like 10 people working on poe1 leagues. this year we only got 2 leagues

Do you think everyone who plays POE1 is also going to play POE2?

So basically the large amount of EA support packs across all platforms and after that just if people want to buy cosmetics.

Personally I never found any of the D4 cosmetics to be worth a dang, but the game was worth a dang to play after the campaign was done.

So far the cosmetics seem to be much better quality in POE2.

No, just like PoE1 all content is free to play, they monetize though Cosmetics.
