End game combat feels too fast

"
I just don't see the reasons to play PoE2 if gameplay feels the same as PoE1.
I was hoping for slowing down the combat, but as appeared it just the same PoE1 with boosted graphics.

actually you get screen explosions without zoom zoom, so most from the two camps wont be happy, im pretty ok becase i don't watch any YT/streams so its actually fun :P
Yep.

I feel there's a disconnect currently, between the acts and the maps where the former is slower, got time to react gameplay vs the latter more zoomy, PoE1 kill or be killed screen clearing gameplay.

And personally, as much as i love me some PoE zoom zooms, that's not what i would ever play this game for cos that's what the first game is for, right?

I wholeheartedly disagree.

What gives PoE value for me, is our character's potential for exponential growth. Unlike Diablo2 or D2R, etc, you can go from merely surviving the campaign (Which I LOVED), to dropping the hardest bosses in a second. This can take a year's worth of investment, but it's possible and I love that.

I don't want to get to a point where I'm 35% stronger than someone else doing cow-level no matter what gear I have. I want to be able to clear players-6 cow level in 30 seconds, 1-tapping whole screens.

To achieve that, a single skill must be a nuke (or some "cast on" setup). That means every form of skill combo is pointless – so why even have that? It can't be both, or at least you have the current disconnect between campaign and maps.

It kills build variety too. The only useful skill in endgame are those that can become one-shot nukes. So everyone better play meta builds. The only form of crazy experimentation is for the super rich that can combine various uniques etc. to turn them into nukes – because there is no other than wiping entire screens in a second.

Does it really kill your power fantasy if you have to use 3 skills together to wipe an entire screen? If even the best setups need 15 seconds instead of 1 to clear a boss or screen?

I guess I just don't see the challenge if you are too overpowered, like activating an immortality cheat in other games – what even is the point then?
In other words: some reach kid like Elon Musk can buy an overpowered character and one-tap a pinnacle boss because even he manages to click a button. No skill or game knowledge needed.

This... so SO much this. What he did proves without a doubt what the problem with this joke "power fantasy" is. As if there was more proof needed but hey.. the more the merrier.

ok, but where is the exponential growth in poe 2 unless you use archmage or howa? nonexistent.

Why did Musk do that btw..? I mean it's just overall bull$hit on Reddit/YT/etc -- like it's obvious he's just a fraud lol

+1 absolutely agree.

This is not what was said about PoE 2 during all it's marketing and all videos showcased.
Endgame isn't slow and methodical at all. It's PoE 1 copy-paste.

I am able to explode whole screens with few buttons, bosses are dying in seconds and I don't even know what mechanics they have.

Campaign Act 1 was amazing.
Endgame got me over-stimulated and ultimately bored in few maps. It's like a game for monkeys to keep mashing two buttons and nothing else.

This. I still have poe1 leagues to go back once in while for zoom zooms.
Totally agree.
Game started like a blend of poe with souls-like pacing and methodical gameplay which was so refreshing fun and rewarding + incentivising experimentation and bolstering creativity.
You reach the end game and its poe1 again. This got even worse after latest patch - you need to clear tge the screen before mobs get close and all those fun combo mechanics are useless. Its a shame cause those elements so prominent in the first acts were so well done and felt amazing..

GGG wants to lure all poe1 players into poe2.
I just hope they will make 2 very different league options: "good slow methodical league" and "braindead zoomzoom with x100 powercreep for more zoomzoom".
