One life per map is just not fun
I like it. Its good that theres some more tension going into a map.

" I have 65%~ res on elementals and 15% chaos. About 2k ehp. that should be enough in a low tier map to not get one shot from a regular monster IMO. Like I said, I want to play in a way I find fun, not in a way that is absolutely optimal. Punishing death is ok but the current system is just too much to still be fun for me. " wait until you run T15s :) you gonna love it (you wont) |

yeah horrible design
you go into a map with friends and once someone dies they just sit there and look at the body - cant even follow the view of ppl that are still alive its toxic and makes ppl just want to quit |

Agreed. One death per map is destroying my enjoyment for the game. I'm trying my best to be patient, optimistic, and give it a chance, but I'm at the end of my rope. I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign.
I'm around tier 10 maps, with a somewhat tanky Witchhunter grenade enjoyer. I still die so fast to certain things, in particular, the on-death effects. With my grenades' visual effects and Overwhelming Presence's visual effect, I can hardly see ground-effects that will instant kill me. I'm fine (and even like) penalties for dying, but it feels like far too much for me. Enemy health resetting on-death is cool, but failing the map and loosing map juice and hurting map sustain is SUCH a steep penalty. All it takes to die is loosing focus for 0.5s or not being able to see mobs/ground effect/projectiles. So many deaths happen too fast for me to blame myself for it. Please GGG, I want to like this game; the bosses are so good! Let us re-enter maps after dying and improve visual clutter. Perhaps, give us a skill effect transparency slider, better highlighting of enemies/projectiles/ground effects, or something else. This feels like "Getting Over It" difficulty, not "Dark Souls" |

" Its really not id say 4k ehp (shields + life idk good arnor eva based values sorry) and 75% ele res and at least 50 chaos res is pretty comfy for a while esp if you have some block from a shield. Res is more valuable in terms of damage reduction the higher it gets, which is why even +1 max res is huge. Going from 75 to 76 res is actually 4% less damage not 1%. Capping your res from 65 is like 20-25% damage reduction. Last edited by BossOfThisGym#2062 on Dec 14, 2024, 9:14:33 PM

" Do you realistically think that most people are gonna have that? Like, I bought about 40 ex worth of gear to get these stats because nothing that dropped for me was even remotly good. You think I need to double ehp, increase all res by 10%+(manageable) AND get 35% more chaos res. To run tier 1 maps. I'm sorry but that sounds absurd to me. Remember that the main issue is one life per map. Meaning, I can't farm loot properly, I can't get exp properly so I can't get stronger properly. The only way to get reliable anything is doing late-game campaign maps for hours now until I get money/gear. I want to make progress in the game, feel accomplished. It's not impossible to do, but in a time/fun scale, this is borderline time wasting. |

" Same here: Alt + F4. Losing the map, mods, Waystone, loot, and XP is absolutely ridiculous. I’ll be exploring other ARPGs until the next POE1 season drops. Dear GGG, players play games for fun, not for frustration and stress. |

All the unnecessary punishment made me quit for now before I even got punished.
Some aspects of the game just seem a little too extreme like this one.... |

This game LOVES having unfun mechanics just for the sake of it.
I just can't understand who would think that one-life maps, the "new" ascendancy or on death effects are fun. Its like they didn't understand what made PoE fun. You can do PoE 2 slower and still be fun but not like this. The game right now is good but it has sooo many frustrating and boring design choices that I don't understand how anyone would prefer PoE 2 over 1. |
