The dodge roll changes actually diminishes the combat experience

It feels like they took out the freedom of choice of movement skills for all classes and inserted a dodge. Easier to balance I guess? It feels better with the changes than without, but it wasn't big enough to make it broken. Most mobs can't be bullied by it and don't leave enough space. Just the tiny stuff.
aside blink being a thing but with so much intelligence it needs it is a witch/sorc thing only
Nah the changes are welcome. Getting stuck in a corner and surrounded by 50 roaches then dying isn't fun game design, never will be.

And no, dodge roll did not need nerfs, its already total garbage. There isn't anything on it to nerf lol

They'll probably add movement spells other than Blink into the game later anyway, like probably at least 1 extra movement ability that each class can spec into to change the default dodge roll into something that matches that class. Or you know, just copy the good movement skills from PoE 1 like flamedash. That would be the more simple solution that would instantly work and only improve the game.

Dodge roll is already plenty useless the further you get in the game. It doesn’t scale very well.

Imo, we should be able to slot in support gems into dodge roll, same like with basic weapon attack.
I still think dodge roll needs a buff. I'm already running into enemies that are fast enough they have moved on top of me and are already attacking me before my character has recovered from the dodge roll. It was useful in the earlier acts, but latter it is just better to worry about killing rather than dodging since if you can't kill it fast enough the mobs are just going to kill you anyways.

Pin exists.

There are solutions to being surrounded. People are dead set on doing nothing to solve the issues they are having and instead just want the game to be reverted to poe 1 method of delete 3 screens and keep it moving.

Uber boss? naw, dude i delete in 0.8 seconds and farm 50 times an hour. Any mechanics at all, means its to hard or to slow.

unless you do ritual on maps where dodge roll is unusable,or in general narrow maps.
This sounds like such a spectator problem. As if you are not even playing the game, but you are annoyed there is less tension while watching it. It was not remotely fun getting randomly surrounded with no chance of escape except blasting out. There is no "positioning skill" in enemies that have +5000% of your movespeed, coded to surround you, coming in from offscreen faster than you can kill them. It is also just a pure DPS and stats check, and the worst of it's kind.

Honestly this feels like a dramatic overreaction from a spectator who liked watching streamers die.

Dodge roll feels pretty intuitive to me right now. It was a bit clunky before the update for sure.
