Finally uninstalled PoE2... the wave of relief is crazy!

I never played poe1…why is most of the hate coming from poe1 players?

Because supporters of POE1 are the reason this game exists at all. The whole thing years ago was originally pitched as an upgrade for POE1, and it sounded pretty cool. Fast forward a few years, and they decided to make a whole new souls-like game instead. It feels like a giant "screw you" to the most loyal people that got them to this point.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.
Go play FIFA or Infinity Nikky, those are more up your alley.

PoE 1 is a thinking person's game. Even if you use a guide, the loot, sockets, links, flasks, crafting options (betrayal), and a variety of other factors have a tremendous rng element while you're building your character, so everyone encounters their own interesting problems they need to solve along the way, and the game gives you like a dozen options to tackle any single issue -- you've gotta use your brain to figure out the best method. Low on elemental resists but you're fine on mana? Drop a mana flask and equip a bismuth flask. Craft the flask with mods that benefit you, using alteration orbs.

PoE 2 is much more of an action game, with far fewer opportunities to think about problem solving. Instead, you solve problems by moving and dodging correctly during combat. I don't dislike the game, but it's not the same experience, and understandably doesn't have the same appeal.
Not sure which one I like better yet. PoE 2 still has a lot of pieces under development, while PoE 1 has been fully fleshed out and extensively reworked.

hmmm.... i used to be on your same boat. and i raged hard coz of the split.

alot of people downplay this disappointment. and i know it adds salt to injury.

you are valid to feel that way. ultimately players like you did not get what they were promised.

seeing how the community either loves or hate poe2. is a good thing. it shows ggg, LOOK SO MANY OF US STILL LOVE POE1!!!

but for now, people like you need to suffer until POE2 is finally released... and then some.

Because we have something to compare it to.
Let's look at it this way: PoE2 is the reason PoE1 5.0 or 6.0 expansions don't exist ;)

This is the perfect summary and the reason, why so many people refer to PoE2 as a Soulslike. Yes, PoE2 has a certain charme to it, but I like to solve the problems by thinking and changing stats/skills/items or whatever the game offers me, same reason why I love games like Factorio.
