They could have used something more elegant than flat 60% and 37% reductions to the scaling of the skill.
Slam was also a 60% reduction. Magnetic Salvo was 40%.

Where is this going? Every time something works it just gets crushed, instead of working on the game being playable for this playtest with a pricetag.

If they playtested anything, they tested it without any of these changes...

Can they temporarily give me my passive skill points back? Because otherwise I'll have to start a character from scratch.

Obliterating a skill because you don't know how to fix a broken interaction speaks volumes about the direction of the game.

Its not their fault just revert windows update from day 4/12 you should be fine.
As a "normie" player, I'm really pissed. I did Act 2 yesterday and gas grenades did not feel like they needed a nerf. I was using them the "intended way", i.e. detonating with explosive shot, and it was slow but satisfying. White mobs needed to be caught in 2-3 overlapping clouds to die (I'm talking about the Dreadnought area). This meant I needed to spend a significant time gassing the battlefield (like 4-5 salvos with scattershot, so nearly 20 grenades) to setup up a satisfying full screen clear.

That is with level 8+2 gas grenades and all passives devoted to grenade damage, AoE and extra grenades.

I am literally playing the build they showcased in the reveal!

Even then, it took me like 30 minutes to push my way through the Dreadnought. Not that I'm complaining about being slow - what I'm saying the grenades felt perfectly fine for clearing. And for bossing, they are complete trash - I'm having to switch to the railgun for that.

I don't follow the "meta" so I don't even know what interaction is prompting the nerf but it's the typical GGG knee-jerk nerf that's culling the top 1% "exploiters" at the expense of the normie.

Fix the interaction, don't nerf a fine skill.

Jeezes, I thought the D4 forums were bad.

As a Merc I still love the game and I don't need bosses melting in few seconds, leave that to D4. Gets boring quick. I like the actual skill required in here.

Even if it's an EA, I'm truly converted.

Kind of sucks that I spend 50k to respec into gas grenade and this happens... Really wish you give it more time before nerfing it to the ground...

While I can feel the nerf as my clear hasn't gotten much faster, my game still says the gas grenade explosion does 507% damage at level 12.

Is that just a visual bug?
