I've dropped all crit nodes for now because I was way too squishy for mapping and am now fully investing into Arcane Surge using Eldritch Battery, CI and Mind Over Matter. If you go that route you definitely need Adverse Growth to the right side of MoM, which takes MoM from shit tier to "how the hell am I so tanky?".
Raw Mana, Arcane Intensity and Ether Flow are also really good with this approach. I feel a lot safer while mapping now. I was rather lucky with my gear and am sitting at 2k+ mana already, feels pretty comfy. Gonna reinvest the next skill points I get into crit now that my defense is working, but right now I'd rather kill a rare mob in 10 seconds instead of 3 while not running the risk of losing 3 maps worth of XP and my portals on death. It works exactly like that. My mana pool = my life pool. The only thing that really hurts is rare mobs with mana drain aura and blink :D
Currently looking into a soul drain + murderous intent combo for even more sustain, but I don't quite understand how MI works yet. |

" ES nodes do not count towards EB, EB only converts the base ES from your gear. All other sources of ES are wasted. Stacking mana and int on gear as much as I can.
