How fast do you think the steamcharts number will drop?
I'm honestly not sure. I'm probably not representative of the average but I bet that it's below 5k inside of 2 months.

POE when it first started was significantly harder than POE1 now (not as overtuned as POE2 EA, but that's literally why they have an EA period) and the devs were already pleased with their success and it was over 250k I believe.
A larger number of players fled Diablo 3 when it came out for it being too easy, and diluted the dev's vision. If you only play and judge games based on player count, would you prefer POE2 to turn into Candy Crush? That game has 200 million players after all and you can do one hit swipes, clear the screen and get loot that way too. Be nuanced please - if there's something specific then that's worth discussing. |

Did you post in the wrong place? Nothing you said is related to the topic at all.

I framed my point and your inference in the third paragraph.
And no, my reply is not a direct engagement on steam chart numbers, so much as pointing out the fallacy of your post in doing so, and the predicate upon which your assertion is based |

lol, I understand now, you want to debate the quality of the game and that's not what I'm doing here.
I'm asking how many players you think will be playing in a couple months. You can go argue with a wall somewhere I'm not engaging in a debate on that subject. |

" What kind of pseudo-intellectual flex is this? Predicate upon this: The original post is in simple words, unambiguous and specific - it was a simple question, for crying out loud. You imagine an inference, assume an assertion and go off on a tangent, and use some obscure words which do not compensate for basic comprehension. I think it will be mid 5 digits. However the majority of that will be newcomers to the franchise from other Dark Souls like games, and the core sweat lords. With 3.26 coming in February many PoE1 player will go back to that for a while and a good share of those may not return to PoE2.

Mid 5 digits might be a more fair assessment.
I'm kind of expecting a much faster drop off because I think the game is boring and apparently a lot of people think it's too hard. I could easily imagine a bunch of people getting hardstuck and quitting. |

" I give it a week to drop below 100k but we never know :) in 24 hours it went from 550k to 330k, it says a lot Last edited by SupaMF#6823 on Dec 7, 2024, 11:01:29 PM

When the honeymoon phases starts to fade around midweek and streamer voices their disappointment online, it will be a huge downfall. The game shouldn't of never been called Path of Exile 2 because it is clearly not a sequel to a game fan and players have supported for the last 12 years.
