Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
I have the same issue. I may have it worse than some. Some people say restarting fixes it for a while or using a VPN makes the connection more stable but I haven't seen any improvement. I'm of the opinion that it has something to do with how our network gateway interacts with the POE servers because the issue would also occur for me in POE 1. Really hope they implement the predictive network setting soon, or if they can't for some reason, at least address the issue so we don't sit twirling our thumbs waiting and hoping they at least see that it's a problem.

Lag as fxxk, playing this game is pure torture.

Yes, have this too. Saturday and sunday, despite high CPU usage and fps drops in towns, when going through zones, there was no stutter, sometimes fps would go down because of the action. But today when ive started the game, running around, even with no enemies on screen, i get constant stuttering. Its like traversal stutter in UE5 games, or frame skipping etc. Ive changed no settings, worked fine on weekend, today its bad.

I have been having this issue in Poe 1 since 3 months ago. Now this issue continues to POE 2 EA :(
My latency goes up from 20-50ms to 200-300 fps constantly, drops back down and then repeats. Game is literally unplayable :( |

Game periodically switches between running smooth with 10-30 ms latency, depending on the gateway used, and stuttering like hell for a few seconds with the latency going up to a few hundred ms. Sometimes the lag spikes even freeze the game for a moment.
It also doesn't matter what gateway I use, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, all the same. I locked the fps to 80 to better see the lag spikes. It's entirely just network lag killing the game for me. The fps are super stable all the time. Maybe at least offer predictive mode so the game doesn't stutter or freeze completely all the time? It seems to be at the start of a new level or boss fight. something to do with shaders download maybe? It needs to be fixed because hinder the fruition of the game.

Hi I'm also facing the same issue. I connect to SG servers and from the client log, i see that most of the servers are giving me > 170ms ping currently and it spikes randomly (up to 2000ms during gameplay). Occasionally, I connect to one that gives stable 40ms (which is the usual ping I get). The issue started happening in the past 2 hours for me.

I mean I could live with some minor stuttering form time to time because its in ealry access but Dec 6 I had 0 crashes while loading and since Dec 7 I already had 4 leading screen total pc crashes which is quit sad because I mean no other game so far caused me to crash my pc.

For me, it's solely network related. Looking at the performance breakdown, the lag doesn't even change my fps, it's just visual lag. I have it worst than most I think. I go from 30ms to around 2000 and it happenes every 2-3 seconds. I'm going to try a few other things I saw on this thread this afternoon, but I think it all boils down to how this lockstep network method works.

I am still waiting for information from the company.
What worries me the most is that there are people commenting that it was already happening in POE and they never gave a solution. Last edited by KazeKiru#5914 on Dec 9, 2024, 11:24:34 AM
