they literally have acknowledged, sometimes its just really dam hard to figure out what is crashing a program, specially when the type of crash is a full system freeze as no log is made and nothing gets sent to them via the bugcrash automated shit...
god ppl are dam unreasonable. you really think they are not working on it, a problem affecting this many ppl? insanity
They acknowledged it in a small post buried in the middle of a 400+ page thread. At this point, it feels more like a mockery than an honest attempt at showing that they're taking this seriously.
I don't doubt that they have someone working on it, but the very least they could do is mention it in an official news update, a livestream, or something similar. It's been a month since people paid for their product, yet they still can't run it without putting their hardware at risk and if that person doesn't visit this forum they might as well think that GGG took their money and ran cause they sure ain't talking about a fix.
They aren't an indie studio that can't spare one person to come up with a proper acknowledgment to reassure those affected by this, no need to treat them like one.
as someone who has been desperately working on something going wrong but the business is small. i could have wasted time formulating an email saying im working on it to appease, or i could have been jsut working on it and got it done sooner.
writing an official notice to the details takes time, ggg are small, do you want the pat on the back that its going to be ok that might take a few days to formulate and explain (it cant be just we working on it clearly thats not enough) because it has to be written very carefully and thoughtfully to not just shit you off or,
would you prefer they focus and not worry about your feels, you know they are working on it, and jsut get it done? it was acknowledged, what possible words more could they say beyond we are working on it would make you feel that they are working on it?
Repeating once again:
Those who are working on this problem (if they exist) and those who are responsible for communication are not the same people.
GGG has different branches. Those who inform us and those who are working on this problem(if they exist at all, we don't know) are different people.
Informing us-the paying customers- is not something that slows down the bug fixes. Because support staff is different than developer team.
GGG is not a small indie studio with a skeleton crew.
At this point we need an official communication from GGG to understand what to do next. For example if they were to say "this problem will take us 2 months to fix", I could then simply uninstall the game and comeback 2 months later.
Or if they were to say "We will allow refunds after February 1st" then we would be at ease for at least getting our money back.
Or if they were to say "using X skill seems to trigger the crashes" we can avoid it, one less trigger mean one less crash.
But we get nothing. Not a single information about anything. GGG should understand that this is not a F2P game anymore, they SOLD a product.
I created a thread for this as well:
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3707198/page/1#p25898464
But basically we-as paying customers- have the right to know:
1) What went wrong?
2) What you are doing to fix it?
3) What possible causes have you eliminated as the source of the problem?
4) What triggers have you discovered that starts the resource hog loop other than "zone change"? (This one is really important because it allows players to create workarounds)
5) What is your estimated time of fix?
6) How did this sort of bug managed to avoid detection in your testing period?
7) What you will be doing to compensate players that have been affected by this issue?
8) Whether refunds would be made available for those that are no longer interested in playing the game?
As long as they are not doing this our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.

1. Turning off Threaded Optimization worked for me.
2. People are getting way too upset over this. It's early access folks. Its gonna have game breaking bugs. Half the point of playing EA is to playtest and find the bugs. The DEVs priorities might not align with our individual needs.
That's ok.
No, that's part of alpha and beta testing, not early access. The game should at least function properly. Instead it is crashing the OS and physically damaging peoples' computers.
this was EA BETA lol, not EA Release, there is a difference.
saying as someone who is crashing and on like a 10th reinstall of OS and very frustrated too, but
for the technical. no one bought the game, they bought 30$ of store currency with a free key at min, more a strat to help lessen trolling of the EA beta... the game is f2p and if its not working for you, you can wait entirely till f2p at absolutely zero loss to what you bought, where it would be reasonable to expect crashing issues are not a prob, you bought cosmetics packs and currency at the regular price, which are available on poe1, and got a bonus key to play in the EA beta or choose to wait.
nothing i spent money on has not been provided, and expecting smooth sailing for EA beta is really unrealistic. GGG repeatedly say the game is not finished, its ea beta... maybe because of shit companies like blizzard doing EA RELEASE versions ppl have forgotten wtf a beta is.

I’ve experienced this issue as well, but I’ve found that manually disabling "Engine Multithreading" before the loading screen and re-enabling it afterward prevents any freezes or crashes.
I’m not a technical expert, but wouldn’t it make sense for GGG to implement an automatic toggle for "Engine Multithreading" during loading screens? This could serve as a temporary solution and let us enjoy the game until the issue is resolved.

From the Steam description of early access:
IS THIS THE SAME AS PRE-PURCHASING A GAME?
No. Early Access is a full purchase of a playable game. By purchasing, you gain immediate access to download and play the game in its current form and as it evolves. You keep access to the game, even if the game later moves from Early Access into fully released.
"Playable game". It's in the first sentence. This game, as excruciatingly documented in this thread and others, is NOT playable for many people. By definition this is not what consumers should expect when opting for Early Access.

Could something like limiting the process affinity on game launch, as described in this guide:
https://www.windowsdigitals.com/how-to-set-process-cpu-affinity-priority-permanently-in-windows-10/
help mitigate potential hardware issues that could cause a hard reset?

as per my last post,
reeks of entitlement
and they are indie, bit bigger then the average but they are not a AAA and they do have limited staff.
all of those questions don't change a thing, and some might still be trying to answer. people are fickle and unreasonable, you be open ppl call you liars later, you put a time on it ppl say your late. the real answer you won't like, it will be fixed when its fixed.
you need to ask yourself, like really ask it, do you really think a team with a clear passion for the game, are going to do nothing to have the most ppl they can enjoy it. because thats your answer. so you have 2 choices in these situations, get some patience, or just stay mad, neither will change how long it takes to fix.

what, copy paste of steam, you are straight wrong. EA on steam has always been a promise of 'working on it' at most ><
Early Access Game
Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops.
Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more
and again, the key was a free add to a std pack thats always been there. and everything you paid for is 100% available to you

By paying for this game we, the paying customers, are entitled to having access to the product in the form it is advertised.
If that's what you mean by entitlement you are correct.
GGG is not an indie studio in any meaning of the phrase.
GGG is not independent. They are owned by Sixjoy Tencent, a Tencent subsidiary, which in turn is backed by PRC, a state.
How can a company with more than 100 employees and owned by a multimillion dollar company, which is backed by a multibillion dollar conglomerate and holding, which is backed by a state called "indie"?
It cannot. It is not.
We-as paying customers- have the right to know:

I haven't and wont read all posts, too many :D, but i have noticed that the 24H2 crashes are for those that did a windows update from 23H2 to 24H2, if you do a new install from windows with the 24H2 that is allready included clears the crashes. Microsoft had to pull back the 24H2 update due to issues and they just released it again. My wife updated to 24H2 a few days ago and now we have to turn off a few cores before she plays to not crahsh, I on the other hand did a clean install with the 24H2 included and do not have any issues.

This is not a Windows 11 issue. While there are many issues with Windows 11, this is not one of them.
Among the posts you have not read are crash reports from all kind of OS, such as Windows 10 and Linux.
Windows 11 24H2 is just one of the OS that happens to be able to run the game.
GGG's silence on the hard crashes and their misdirecting known issues post causes these misunderstandings.
That's why, once again I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others will be made aware of the issue.
