POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
So if you think it's GGG's fault:
Why did it occur for me in PoE1 when they were done with doing patches in Settler's league and I've only done Windows updates? If the problem is as widespread as it seems to be, don't you think a gaming company responding to the community as GGG does would just let it happen? Why?? Why are there reports of people solving it by using another version of the OS or Graphics drivers? Why are there other games affected too since 23H2? My bet is on Microsoft causing the problems, maybe NVidia as it doesn't happen on my second device (AMD). It's probably a mixture of several things that have to be analyzed thoroughly. I'm a developer myself and sometimes a problem you think is fixed in a few minutes can take you days to tackle down. I'm looking for a bug since 2016 now at work. I can easily resolve the symptoms, but the root cause is buried in millions of lines of code. Can't reproduce it and there are several companies involved in the code. It sucks if stuff doesn't work, I totally get that and if you're really that petty, that 30$ on an EA game are causing you to spend HOURS here whining, send me your banking details. I'll give it to you if you promise to never post here again. |

Good point and good questions. Unfortunately average joe will blame GGG even if his setup is totally crap like the guy who complains that the game is lagging on his Wi-Fi without providing any diagnostic information about his connection. Fortunatelly we have one post from NVIDIA Representative on the Reddit. He believes (so it's not 100%) the upcomming January driver update will fix the issue. This and your post will be burried over time, joes can't read. |

Sure boys, it's Microsoft, that's why there's people on Linux and W10 freezing.
Or people like me, who rolled back and it's still freezing. Or people like me too, that did a clean 23h2 install and still freezes. If you were here since the fucking first or second page, you'd see people report all kind of shit as fixing it, just to come back a few pages afterwards and say it didn't. Please, stop posting in these two threads to say things like people are stupid, people can't read, etc. If your game is working, all the power to you. If you fixed it by something, all the power to you. But please, leave this threads alone, no one wants to read your fucking opinion on what is causing it. |

" I Copy/paste it from my previous message in recent messages. It is based on Cato the Elder, who did his best against Carthage shills in Roman Senate. If even one person does it, it is worth it. Same reason why there is a joe-obsessed shill out here blasting misinformation since day 1, claiming they are "in this field", when they did not even know the difference between chkdsk /f and chkdsk /r. (They also did not know ACPI 2.0 did not work when the crash was hard enough to not allow ACPI process) Or that other shill who tried to convince people that this "cannot" brick PCs. These people use half-truths to confuse or mislead people. Do everyone agree with them? No. But they get their kicks from other people bricking their PCs (or are getting something from GGG). Even one is one more for those... Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. I apologize for any unanswered messages.

" And I dropped basic electrical and computer engineering knowledge yet here you are... You talk a lot as if you know something but you do not know much about anything. Just go back to your dead-end IT job. You literally did not know what ACPI 2.0 was doing, nor did you know the difference between chkdsk commands. You did not know about electrical mechanisms that are involved in your black box called Personal Computer. For you they might as well be magic circles. You also did not know how probability worked. So just scamper away and read some books on actual workings of computers beyond software if you want to be someone before the end. I'm happy that the critical software like firmware or kernel mode services are not developed by the people like you. Otherwise we could have colander and sieve in every single subsystem, because according to your words we have to rely on attacker decision. Oh wait...
OS executes autochk with /f set implicitly, because it's recommended way by Microsoft (if dirty bit set up) but you didn't know about that because you never read a single technical book. You can't even read short Microsoft articles. You deny the fact that NVIDIA acknowledged the problem and promised to address it in upcomming driver package. You know why? Yes! Can't read. Just a troll spamming the same message, provoking people to change their mind and set negative score on Steam for the PoE 2 based on EA experience. Copy-pasta paid troll from Blizzard? |
|
" One point, does NVIDIA write drivers for AMD? or I don't understand something |
|
God damn the armchair IT "expert" bros are the absolute worst.
Happy new years guys, maybe we can get an actual fix from GGG in 2025... |
|
" Lol this troll is a very poorly written AI that never learns from anything. He's out of storage space, an issue that chkdsk /f will never fix. |

I had several problems with constant CTDs, so that I only once reached Clearfell once when it crashed on LS and any restart on the first map ended with a crash reaching the same point somewhere middle at the map. Though no PC freezes as others seem stell to be plagued with.
What did the trick for me (AMD 7950X3d + NVIDIA 2080 Ti) as of today was to: DEACTIVATE iGPU (via Device Manager) Been playing for hours now, no crashes anymore. Hope that helps you guys to. Last edited by b3liev3r#4121 on Dec 31, 2024, 9:19:25 AM
