POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

"
Yeah I'm back to square one.

I ran a BIOS update last night hoping to fix a few issues I was having with other games recently. While those now seem to be resolved, my PoE and PoE2 are both still causing full systems hard locks.

ODDLY ENOUGH... PoE 1 now crashes on zone-in on any character, every single time, when it never did before. I was able to play PoE 1 without issue before while PoE2 was still hard-locking my system.

PoE2 is now stable for 4-5 hours and then will hard lock the system on zone-in randomly.

So it just made my PoE 1 go from unaffected to completely bricked...

This is so dumb.

PoE2's code is trying to do something it should not be doing, which why these crashes happen.

I have an untestable hypothesis (at least by non-GGG personnel) that the unproblematic PCs are the ones that are exploited and the "problematic" PCs are the ones that do not allow this exploit to happen which is why they hard crash.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. I apologize for any unanswered messages.

Ditto, thought about the same thing. It's too seemingly random when it happens and on which machines.
I think I managed to fix this bug. In my case, it turned out that when loading to another location, sometimes I saw that the temperature counter disappeared on the computer case, and then the computer hung. Only after closing POE2 through the task manager did the temperature display return, I thought that it might be related and decided to disable the software that was responsible for monitoring the temperature of the processor and graphics card and displaying it on the case. I disabled programs such as PoEUncrasher. I noticed that it loads faster to new locations. If you have any counters on the computer case or programs that monitor the work of the GPU and CPU, disable them all and check the result. I hope this is the solution to this problem.
Almost a month and nothing official but a vague line on a known issues page laying the blame on a recent windows update which, as shown in many reports, is not true since the problem occurs on earlier versions.

Just to add a bit of context, there are 2 main threads about this issue which GGG staff have responded to with one copy/paste post in each. At time of writing, those 2 threads have combined 6150 posts and 576,317 views.

Over half a million views from customers on the official forum alone = one line from GGG on known issues and no further updates.

When refunding on steam just link these threads and highlight how the game sold thru steam could permanently damage your PC, and there remains no ETA or update in almost 30 days on this problem. If they deny, just try a few times and steam will honor the refund despite hours played. They're quite good like that.

As a sidenote, the fact this problem has gone unreported on major POE youtube channels shows how deeply they're in GGG's pocket. If this was a certain other ARPG they'd be outraged but GGG is providing their income for the next few years and new zealand is quite a pretty country to visit.

Honestly speaking in a way this is the best way to temporarily spend >30$.

You get to see which streamers are trustworthy, and which streamers are just shills.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

My wallet feels light enough now to be able to take a walk outside, enjoy the sunlight, and have a profound revelation that the game as it stands is not worth playing, particularly with rig-threatening crashes.

It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that you guys have not fix or acknowledged this issue yet. Im done with this game.

It has been acknowledged and is being looked into. You can see that very easily by filtering by dev posts on this forum.

Dont be this guy. Its been radio silence since December 7th. Half the ppl cant even send that guy a dxdialog cause they arent lvl 25. Their response to this is as mediocre as it could get.

Don't be that guy. It was actually Dec 14th. Tracking down a bug affecting an extremely small percentage of the playerbase requires a period of gathering data before the issue can even be identified, before it can then even be resolved.

I think it's ludicrous to expect such an issue to be resolved in just a few weeks. It's even more crazy to complain about the speed at which such a bug is fixed during an extended Early Access phase, which is expected to last up to a year.

My man is out here in these forums everyday. Do you have this message copy paste or do you type it everytime? LOL
Extremely small percentage of players? Lol. Learn2math.

Find me another EA game that crashes an entire PC at loading screen for thousands of ppl. You can't!
