POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" This fixed it for me Running an older CPU and GPU on 24H2 Ryzen 5600x and 2060 Super No temp problems here.. |

Resetting the Nvidia control panel settings to default values (a separate preset for the game) solved the freezes in my case. Disabling multithreading in the game also solves the problem, but I don't like this option.

Hello everyone. I have read over 50 pages of this discussion. I have 7700 + 4080 super. Of course, I also encountered freezes, and at first I thought about PBO and undervolt risen, until I came across this branch.
What is most surprising is that no one has ever written about consumption at the moment of freezing. And I think that's the reason. CPU consumption goes beyond the prescribed limits, which are prescribed in the motherboard. At the moment, I have 108vat. CPU consumption alone goes up for 115+. In any stress data, the parameter is strictly limited. But not in POE2. |

" Per their latest update post: "As we wind down for the holiday season we wanted to thank you all for our most successful launch so far, we could not have done it without all of your support. A lot of our team will begin to take some much needed rest over the next few weeks but we look forward to getting back in the new year refreshed and ready for an exciting year of development in 2025. Happy Holidays, Exiles!" Early access and they're humans who deserve a holiday too. I can't play my main character because of constant crashes either while my friends can, it sucks I get it. |

I'm getting constant crashing to desktop that I think I've narrowed down to something on my Sorc character.
I can login to a fresh character and play the game flawlessly at 130-200 fps depending on area for hours. Within 5-20 minutes of logging into my main character the sorc I crash. I often see this 4x in the client log around the time I crash: 2024/12/21 22:52:40 2521968 93b1acf4 [CRIT Client 5060] [RENDER] Shader uses incorrect vertex layout (expecting 0x28) 2024/12/21 22:52:40 2522000 93b1acf4 [CRIT Client 5060] [RENDER] Shader uses incorrect vertex layout (expecting 0x28) 2024/12/21 22:52:40 2522156 93b1acf4 [CRIT Client 5060] [RENDER] Shader uses incorrect vertex layout (expecting 0x28) 2024/12/21 22:52:40 2522281 93b1acf4 [CRIT Client 5060] [RENDER] Shader uses incorrect vertex layout (expecting 0x28) i7-14700k 32.0 GB DDR5 6400 RTX 4070 Super Last edited by Surico#7317 on Dec 22, 2024, 4:58:32 AM

Hi all,
As some of you, I had zero problems until 2 days ago where the game would completely crash my PC and my only solution is to press the on off button. I m quite afraid to kill my setup if it keeps happening... MSI Z790 Tomahawk Wifi - 13700K 32G DDR5 4090 and Win 11 (not on the last WIn Update) As I m a noob in terms of undervolting - wanted to ask you if these metrics are normal on Idle (desktop) - temps around 38 40 and when playing in 4K up to 65 70 max... I never had any issues in other games The only things I did in BIOS were to lower the loadline to 3 and select the cooling system to 253w Last edited by rayoux#4490 on Dec 22, 2024, 5:42:13 AM

" Just try this guys. Run the POEUncrasher as an Administrator. This prevents our PC from hard resetting and causing the game to go through the frozen loading screen. Thank to the creator for this amazing app. POEUncrasher https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher/releases |

I rolled back to 23H2 last week and haven't had a single freeze yet. I'm 100% convinced the problem is from the latest windows version. Anyone who says that 23H2 doesn't work for them is likely experiencing a different issue than what this thread is about.

A small update:
Swiching von DX 12 to Vulcan did NOT solve the problem. It is not very common any more, but still a thing... I kinda don't want to say it, but most of the time this happended was when twitch was runnin on the 2nd screen. I stop watching for now to see if it makes any difference. |

" It's not, there's a guy here who has freezes on Nobara Linux distro, and at least one more Linux that didn't say the distro he was using. |
