POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Also experiencing the total pc crash randomly on loading screens.
This thread has 19 pages of people saying the same thing, how is bug not being acknowledged yet. The error I digged into was a kernalbase.dll error that was popping up randomly during gameplay, could be the first loading screen could be after 4 hours, was totally random. My solutions so far have been to validate all the steam files, completely close anything that monitors other hardware so things like RivaTuner and MSI Afterburner as they have been known to affect .exe programs as well as alter some ingame settings like direct12 to vulkan etc I havent had a crash since making those changes but the game needs to address this issue asap. Another solution is to go into task manager, go to details, find the poe2 file, set affinity and turn off a core or two for the game so it cannot access 100% Last edited by Nyek#6508 on Dec 8, 2024, 4:24:03 AM

Disabling Dynamic Culling fixed it for me.

Intel i9-9900 RTX 2070 Super (latest gfx drivers) Had full freeze, needing hard restart. Following settings changes and currently able to play okay: Vulcan Lock foreground FPS to monitor refresh for me 144. Lock backgrounds FPS (default setting) 30 VSync Locked Dynamic Culling Disabled (as above user) Multithreading - I was disabling this when I loaded a new scene but I now have it fully enabled and loading without issue. |

Hello,
I've one method, as a temporary soultion. it DOES NOT fix the issue but if u set affinity to executable and limit it to cores (if u have 12 cores limit it to use 10 only) - game will still freeze but at least it wount freeze entire PC and u will still be able to kill it thru task manager. |

same issue hard freeze that requires a pc reset, no issues with PC with other games. Most times it's when loading a zone but also happens in town and recently on the act 1 boss. Can this be investigated asap as it's spoiling a really enjoyable game.

+1 happend 2 times when i tried to exit caravn in act 2. just froze need hard reset

Possible solution for game FREEZES and system reboots:
1) Update latest chipset drivers and BIOS for your motherboard. (be very careful with BIOS update watch guides or use help of experienced tech guys) 2) In BIOS settings DISABLE for ASUS-"Multicore enhancement", for MSI "Enhanced Turbo", for GIGABYTE "Tweaker tab, Enhanced Multi-Core Performance". 3) DISABLE dynamic culling in game options. 4) Clear AMD/Nvidia shader cache. (just google it) 5) Turn off Nvidia Reflex in game options. 6) CLOSE all your browsers and their processes in your system before playing the game. !!! OR !!!
