POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

" NO IT DOESN'T!! Stop spreading misinformation, only because it MAYBE worked for you, doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Of course I tried switching to dx11, and guess what? IT DIDN'T SOLVE ANYTHING. Same freezes. |

" negative. it does not fix it. we have said it 1000 times in this and other threads. there is many many people who are on windows 10 and still freezing. stop the misinformation that it's a " 100 % fix " cause it is NOT. |

For those experiencing constant crashes/freezes and looking for real solutions, do not listen to people claiming that changing a simple setting like DX version magically fixed everything. Plenty of players, including myself, have already confirmed these are not permanent fixes, and their systems still crash/freeze. I have personally tried everything mentioned below (and probably forgot half of it because I’ve literally tested every tweak suggested in these forum threads): What I’ve Tried So Far: POE2 Video Setting Tweaks (DirectX11, DirectX12, Vulkan, FPS limiting, graphical settings—you name it) BES (CPU limitations: -2%, -5%, -10%—game crashes but doesn’t crash the whole PC) Lasso (Disabling 2 CPUs—same result, the game still crashes 8/10 times during loading) NVIDIA Settings Tweaks Adding Exceptions to Firewall & Windows Defender Removing Latest Windows Updates FRESH INSTALLING WINDOWS 23H2 (Using UUPDump & Rufus) Result: None of these work. It’s absolutely insane that some people still claim switching DX versions magically resolves everything and call others "nerds." Seriously, just stop. Go play your game. --- To GGG: I’m beyond frustrated that there has been no insight or proper details from you regarding this issue, other than blaming Windows 24H2. Sure, the game might be a massive success for those who can actually play it. But for the rest of us? This is a complete shame. Enjoy your holidays while leaving us stuck with a broken experience. Well done. Last edited by JC_GGG#0000 on Dec 17, 2024, 6:31:20 AM

PirateSoftwares's error log shows multiple Shader Compiler Errors during his crashes. Here's a clip from one of his streams where he was crashing constantly and trying all different changes and settings:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2322265173?filter=archives&sort=time&t=0h31m10s This is where the POE2 game log is located if you want to check what's causing your crashes: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\logs\Client.txt ^Your game log might be saved in a different directory than mine, but this is the most default install and log location for people playing the game with Steam. If your whole system didn't hard crash, and the game itself just crashes to your desktop with your PC still running, you'll probably see the Shader Compiler Error in that log. If something else is causing your crashes, you'll likely find the error in this log file as well. The problem is that most people's whole PC's are crashing when the game crashes, and it doesn't allow enough time for the cause of the crash to be logged in the txt file. Shader Compiler Error: A shader compiler error occurs when a compiler is unable to compile a piece of computer program source code. This can be due to errors in the code or in the compiler itself. Shader compilation errors can occur when a processor needs to translate shaders written in a high-level programming language into binary machine code for the GPU to use. This can cause issues when there are thousands of shaders, and hundreds of new ones need to be loaded with each frame. One solution is to compile all the shaders before the game launches. This is a software issue folks, the POE2 game code itself is either bugged or poorly designed. GGG is the only one that can fix this. Stop beating yourselves up trying to fix a problem that can only be fixed by GGG. Also - wiping your Shader Cache is pointless, because the game is incorrectly compiling the shaders in the first place. The cache just stores them for faster access. Wiping them won't make the shader errors go away. The game will just recompile them again, and then crash again.
