POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

GGG has my money but has lost my faith. I’m just done with this game entirely until these crashes are fixed and even at that point the taste in my month is so sour that I just don’t even care anymore. I’m so glad the masses are having such great fun meanwhile my 9800X3D + 4080 super is just unplayable. At this point I just wish I could get my money back from steam but I guess it is what it is. I have 0 expectations for a fix this week or next with Christmas around the corner. By the time this is addressed my friend group will likely have gotten their 100+ hours and moved on. A fucking shame to say the least

Just use BES and have a perfectly fine experience.

At the people claiming it could damage your PC - lol.

If only BES helped. I tried this with -5, -10, -20 on my x3d and it still hard freezing and requiring a hard reboot.

What works for you doesn't always work for everyone else.

This is called a selection bias.

Most people also have 24H2 like how most people have the latest GPU drivers. Even if its 24H2 specifically, it is GGG's duty to make their game work in it like how all the other games are working within it

You know whats more common theme than 24H2? POE2

so far I'm seeing
1) 1 loud person claiming that reverting to 23H2 didn't help
2) 10+ people including me claiming that issues started happening after upgrading to 24H2.

There might be other biases and issues with relying on these reports but I will tend to believe that something changed internally in Win11 after that upgrade and causing the issue. Of course it could be also some regression in PoE1 and PoE2 code, timings align as well (could be some fixes happening right before PoE2 launch). Not saying that it's win11 fault though, it definitely feels like something that can and should be fixed on GGG side.

Ryzen 5700x
BES not helping, -5, -10, -20, PC still complete freeze.
The only solution that works for everyone is to disable "Engine Multithreading" before loading screen and enable it after loading.
GGG must hotfix that as temp solution a week ago with 2 strings of code, before it damages hardware of thousands users

This whole issue can be fixed temporarily by the devs by disabling Multithreading while in a loading screen... Not sure why just doing this at the very least is taking that long.

Investigating the core issue, sure, that can take a while. But meanwhile that would resolve the problem...

yep, for those affected it definitely would be a decent temporary fix. Playing devil's advocate here: customer retention might be worse with slower loading times than with complete crashes as it is right now. Hard to estimate percentage of users affected by this issue. Lack of communications from GGG, that's what bothers me.

Wish we could get an update on this. Not having any issues in other games.
just constant crashing during everything, try to do a long trial or map? nope, sorry let me crash and make you lose all progress, figured something this bad would be a priority fix...

Am I the loud person? I have the issue on 24h2, 23h2, and multiple different Nvidia drivers, full wipe/clean install. Crash in loading screen to desktop as well as BSOD full lock up.

I fail to see how I'm the loud person though because I've only posted a handful of times... but hey whatever fits your narrative.
