GGG has my money but has lost my faith. I’m just done with this game entirely until these crashes are fixed and even at that point the taste in my month is so sour that I just don’t even care anymore. I’m so glad the masses are having such great fun meanwhile my 9800X3D + 4080 super is just unplayable. At this point I just wish I could get my money back from steam but I guess it is what it is. I have 0 expectations for a fix this week or next with Christmas around the corner. By the time this is addressed my friend group will likely have gotten their 100+ hours and moved on. A fucking shame to say the least

At this point the best option is to report the game on Steam, so that we can have the option to request refunds despite being over the play time limit. It might also alert Steam to put a "potential hardware damage" warning, hopefully saving some people from losing their PCs to this.

Will do
The biggest thing I think they should be doing (and aren't) is warning people that are crashing that it can cause hardware damage. I mean this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Yes I understand its basically a paid beta test but I don't think there is anything in the EULA about user hardware damage due to software. I haven't touched the game since it almost blew up my OS. They need to communicate better.

This does go beyond "as is software" liability protection so yes, if you lost your PC to this you can sue and win in US (probably). But would it be worth it? I don't know.

This is also my main issue. They should have been communicating about this issue and should have put a warning, one that is pinned to the top, saying that "There is this issue. This can cause hardware damage. Do not play if you crashed. Sorry."
Hi! Due to the fact that the topic is gaining momentum and many people can not play normally, I suggest to help understand the developers direction to solve the problem
By collecting statistics.
We have created a form where you can specify your PC configuration and attach a dxdiag file as requested by Timothy_GGG https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-posts/Timothy_GGG-0000.

Link to the form: https://forms.yandex.com/cloud/676004d9e010db19370ab6c2/.

I ask everyone to fill in the form, including people who don't have problems with PC freezing, so you will get structured statistics with problematic and working configurations. This should help to identify patterns of error occurrence, which in turn will speed up troubleshooting of the game.

(at least the information about configurations will not be scattered in the comments of the thread (170 pages omg)).

A dashboard with these statistics will be provided later.
I'm starting to lose hope on this matter. Really, you guys should too...

After 5 days of intensive freezes/crashes and multiple attempts to solve the issue, nothing has stopped the Crashes/Freezes. Nothing. And here is what I tried:

- Disabling cores 0 and 1 - NO GOOD. Only prevents freezing, but constant crashes to desktop still happen.
- Disabling multithreading - NO GOOD. Also prevents freezing, but game still crashes to desktop.
- Disabling all cores but 0 and 1 - NO GOOD. Tried because someone raised this question.
- Changing in-game settings, between DX12, Vulkan, DX11, all kinds of FPS defined options from 60 to 240, Triple buffering, screen resolution, etc. - NO GOOD. Still Freezes and crashes with cores 0 and 1 deselected.
- Adding "--noasync --nologo --waitforpreload" to Steam Launch Options - NO GOOD! Changed nothing, apart from initializing faster due to no logo, still crashes the same.
- Clearing all sorts of Shader Caches: NVIDIA > GLCache, Roaming > PoE2 > ShaderCacheD3D12, Vulkan, SteamApps > ShaderCache, Local > Temp, NVIDIA > PerDriverVersion, minimap cache, etc... - NO GOOD! Sessions last a bit longer, but still Freezes and crashes after 20 minutes or so.
- Changing NVIDIA control panel 3D settings: Shader cache all options from User defined to 100GB and Unlimited. - NO GOOD. Still crashes.
- NVIDIA 3D settings Vulkan/OPENGL to DXGI - NO GOOD. Still crashes.
- Steam verification of files integrity - NO GOOD. No errors found.
- Turning off XMP2.0 and use default speed of RAM. - NO GOOD. Changed nothing apart from slower memory. Same freezes/crashes.
- Virus threat&protection / antimalware disabling - NO GOOD. Still freezing.
- Tried installing PoE2 via client and Epic Games (also reinstalling on Steam) - NO GOOD. Exactly same freezes and crashes (without cores 0 and 1).
- Running Steam and PoE2 as administrator - NO GOOD. Same crashes.

Probably tried other options as well but forgot to list here, since I've been trying everything for the past 5 days.

The only thing I have not tried is uninstalling Windows 24H2 and installing 23H2, because I REFUSE TO UNINSTALL MY WINDOWS DUE TO GGG INCOMPETENCY.

I give up. Going back to Baldurs Gate 3 (which btw has never crashed on ULTRA settings). I wish GGG devs were the same from Larian studios.

Specs:

GTX 4070 Super
32GB RAM

Just use BES and have a perfectly fine experience.

At the people claiming it could damage your PC - lol.
