Hard crashing PC locks up

Just want to add it is much more than just this thread, I have the same issue and many of my friends. We all have 7800x3d Cpu's the only common denominator.

4070 TI super, 32gb ram, brand new PC 7800x3d, I got this rig for early christmas gift. No other game has an issue at all. But poe 2 it is rolling the dice to even open the game and I have had to disable SMT for poe2 or my ENTIRE pc freezes and crashes. Sorry but I am not risking my brand new system just to play path of exile 2.

I play a LOT of games that have mediocre ports or optimization but I can truly say Poe2 runs the worst of any in years. At least they actually ran and didn't crash constantly or freeze my entire PC.

Fix this crap GGG this is ridiculous. I have to quit playing until it is fixed, I cannot continue playing a game that damages my hardware. Sorry.
I had been running without any crashes for 4/5 days and all of a sudden last night and today I've crashed at least 20 times.

I'm on a 5950x/3080Ti/64GB with Windows 10. It's always a BSOD and it does not happen in any other game! I've tried everything to check if something might be wrong with my PC, Cinebench/3DMark/Memtest overnight, which were all Ok but the crashes are still happening. I also updated my BIOS and AMD chipset drivers.

Last thing I did was a DDU re-install of graphics drivers but now I crash with a black screen instead of BSOD. Also, the PoEUncrasher app does not help.

I also just disabled virtualization now, not sure how that will turn out. I was thinking of a fresh Windows 11 install but I really don't want to go through that and still crash.

This is very frustrating.

Posting from my toilet, about to flush my Christmas goods and I was reminded that my goods are going to the same place my $30 went when I purchased the PoE2 alpha. Merry Christmas exiles!!!

PoEUncrasher does not make my PC freeze. Sometimes it cannot restore the PoE service, but for now, it is good enough for me to play and not force shutdowns.

To all the people who argue that this thread has only 1 reply from devs: you are entitled and just want attention.
They know there is a problem, and they are working on it. Some dev writing in this thread is just a waste of time, especially when it only has the purpose of calming some impatient folks.

This is such a stupid take. I do not want attention, in fact, I'd like to never have to visit this forum and have to post about such a stupid issue. I dont know if you have ever played ANY other game with launch issues, but they are effective communicators about their problems and they keep their community updated. Even Bungie does a better job than these guys. Blizzard for all of their faults even communicates better than these guys. No one is sending threats or anything like that, we are just peeved that we spent money on a broken product and there's no fix in sight so we have to try to do it ourselves.

Stop being a simp, it's gross and embarrassing.

HAHAHA with the degree of the community's overwhelming positive reception and the constant comparison with d4 and how its so much better, we get treated like this? If it were any other company this would've taken priority #1 out of anything else. And it is so stupid because WE KNOW how easily one came make a "remedy" given full access to game files. Literally just ask the people creating the 3rd party fixes and pay them $20 USD, would take them less than 15mins to write a temp fix

It is such dented thinking and the fact that we are being gaslighted for reacting appropriately

Running the nvidia hotfix that will be out in January didn't fix the problem. So whatever PoE2 is doing when it begins locking up, it appears to be something like a memory leak?

How did you get access to the new upcomming driver version, is that fix already merged to production or beta branch?

I saw this on an earlier post but its going into the official nvidia app in january after the holidays, beta is availble for download. The fix is meant for two other games but its speculated that it may help. Hasn't for me though:

Yeah, thanks for the reply. According to the NVIDIA Representative message on the Reddit, they believe the PoE 2 problem fixed in the next upcomming driver version after 566.45. So it means the current hotfix basically doesn't have effect on the problem. Even if it shares the fixed code, we just don't have oppotunity to test it. Also, he does not offer a hotfix specifically designed to address the PoE 2 issue until the official release, but technically he could if it is ready in form of another hotfix. Right?

So. I think we have only one option atm - just wait. If NVIDIA gonna release poe 2 fix in their beta driver, it would be nice to test it. I just want to be sure it addresses PoE 2 issue, not Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or Snowdrop engine issues.

Just to make you feel slightly better:
It is not your CPU. I have a completely different CPU from a completely different generation. I crash.

I have a friend who owns a netcafe with hundreds of PCs (all built the same way on same day) some of them work fine, some of them crash. It drove them crazy.

So no, this is not your PC. It is just your luck. Play Diablo 4 instead, or try Hades 2.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

Yeah. Those people are really weird. I really hope that they are getting paid. If not it is truly sad.
