Hard crashing PC locks up
" I received correspondence for my unrelated support ticket 17 days later, the day after I made the previous post here on the forums in this thread. |

Running the nvidia hotfix that will be out in January didn't fix the problem. Decided to try and disable two affinity threads (I have 12 with a 7600x with smt on). The game did eventually freeze (first time played 5 maps and closed game, froze when I started it up the second time).
The interesting thing is that the game froze but you could still use windows. So i gave it a little more time to see if it would get through the freeze on its own or just crash. Than the pc completely locked up. So whatever PoE2 is doing when it begins locking up, it appears to be something like a memory leak? |

Had probably 8-10 crashes in 8hours the other night, with one requiring a full reset/reboot. Running 5800X3D, 32GB, 1080Ti EVGA SC2, and Sabrent Rocket 4gen 2TB.
I suspect its 24H2 as that seems to be a common suspect, but here we are. If anyone knows an easyish way to roll back to 23h2 I am open to suggestions. Stay a while, and listen…🐰

Day 19. No fix in sight. GGG is still silent.
Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

I’m having the same issue. The first week I played with all settings on maximum and had no lag or freezing problems. Now, I’m facing lag, freezing, and CPU issues. I’ve tried Dx11, Vulkan, Dx12, and set all settings to minimum, but nothing works. I hope GGG fixes this because I’m addicted to POE.

" How did you get access to the new upcomming driver version, is that fix already merged to production or beta branch? |

Same problem. PC locks up when changing zones and must reboot. Happens once an hour. I have 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 24H2. Finally turned off multi-threading and no more freezing, but my video tears when I move. It's not unplayable, but really hard to see anything. Hopefully, there will be a fix soon for my fellow AMD users.

This only seems to happen to me when I'm playing my warrior. I can play hours as any of my other characters, but I switch to my warrior and launch my second map, boom crash. Could it be a way to keep melee in check?

Just want to add it is much more than just this thread, I have the same issue and many of my friends. We all have 7800x3d Cpu's the only common denominator.
4070 TI super, 32gb ram, brand new PC 7800x3d, I got this rig for early christmas gift. No other game has an issue at all. But poe 2 it is rolling the dice to even open the game and I have had to disable SMT for poe2 or my ENTIRE pc freezes and crashes. Sorry but I am not risking my brand new system just to play path of exile 2. I play a LOT of games that have mediocre ports or optimization but I can truly say Poe2 runs the worst of any in years. At least they actually ran and didn't crash constantly or freeze my entire PC. Fix this crap GGG this is ridiculous. I have to quit playing until it is fixed, I cannot continue playing a game that damages my hardware. Sorry. |
