Hard crashing PC locks up

For the fourth time, put the game in real time priority mode in either task manager or process lasso it completely solves the crashes and freezes, I've been playing for the past 4 days without a single crash!

Honestly, the only thing that worked for me is that POEUncrasher on Github. I'll be stuck using that until GGG fixes this.

how the use so far? still working perfectly? I'm willing to try that POEuncrasher too, I'm scared to brick my PC with all those crashes
Merry Christmas exiles. We truly are exiled from
Enjoying the game.

they can't hold high CPU loads because they had trashy PSU / motherboard (chinese VRMs), shitty cooling system and things like that.

my man I have noctua nh-d15 on my ryzen 5 3600X CPU. Wukong cant heat that shit up and u are telling me the that shaders in loading screen can force my CPU into 100% and overheat state based on the error of POE crash I checked? Dont be silly

If your CPU which SUPPOSED to work at 100% load CAN NOT work at 100% load and overheating it's definetely something wrong with your setup. It may be related to your fan profile (defined in UEFI setup) and not directly to hardware. Run some stress tests, especially FPU test (for example from AIDA64) and make sure your CPU temp is in limits defined by the manufacturer.

Also PoE 2 crashes not because it overheating the CPU. Just read the topic.

I checked the error message in POE 2 crash I had. When you google that specific error it leads to CPU overheating issues. The thing is my CPU is not heated. Software think its heated but I checked temp in system and its not even high.
Also yes CPU is supposed to work at 100%. BUT when your other software takes 20% then game cant take 100%. Thats why people are getting complete system freeze. Game takes more than its possible to take. Also thats why limiting 2 cores helps with it.

Some third party software made by someone I don’t know that u need .NET9 to even run. But it works.

Source “some random guy on the GGG forums, trust me bro”

Better off waiting til it’s fixed the proper way than tampering with unapproved nonsense.

The POEUncrasher project is open source and on Github. You can clone it to your own pc, inspect the code and compile it yourself, which is what I did.
I am back from Microcenter after taking my CPU there for a diagnostic. The CPU was entirely fried. My best guess as to what's happening now is that some thread safety violation is occurring causing erratic behavior in CPUs, leading to shutdowns (and potential bricking).
+1 Same for me.
Not only in PoE2 same in PoE 1.

Dude you absolutely don't understand how modern operating systems work. Spreading fake information based on lack of knowledge is basically bad idea.

1. CPU is supposed to work at 100% load.

2. User mode applcation can consume 100% of your CPU without single issue. There are mechanisms in your OS ALLOWING to run the system consistently with 100% CPU load. Run TWO stress tests at the same time and you will be surprised.

3. If you run two applications that can consume 100% of your CPU, each of them will be able to load it up to 50%.

4. At maximum load you will not get freeze of your system because of #2.

5. The reason of the system freeze is WAY more fundamental than you can even imagine, because the OS is very complex under the hood. This is one of the reason why the problem STILL NOT fixed. Because it is VERY complex. it's not just let's limit the CPU usage by changing cores affinity or something like that, and problem will gone. It may help to some users, but it's not fix, it's workaround, and not very reliable.

Having this issue is a result of human error(s) in the system design on the ring 0 (kernel mode level) and / or both ring 3 (user mode) and ring 0. It may be related to the OS kernel, kernel mode services including drivers, UEFI or even CPU microcode. Moreover, it is very likely that there may be several reasons for one intersection and together they lead to a freeze. Your OS MUST be idiot-proof against the user mode applications not allowing to hard lock entire PC just because some arbitrary software made something unusual. This is the reason why most of your crashes don't lead to entire collapse but only to the small window with error message and the new entry in the journal.

This issues shows the potential vulerability which can be abused by malware just to crash your system by compiling the shader with very specific conditions.

This is why high CPU load is NOT primary reason of the total freezez. It's only contributing factor in the chain of events.

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but here it is either way, yay.

Reddit post regarding Geforce Hotfix Driver 566.45 Released (Today)

This NVIDIA driver hotfix apparently addresses this Ubisoft/Windows crash.

"
According to recent reports, several Ubisoft games utilizing the Snowdrop engine, like "Star Wars Outlaws" and "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora", are experiencing crashes on Windows systems, particularly after installing the Windows 11 24H2 update, which seems to be a known compatibility issue between the Snowdrop engine and the latest Windows update; this is causing crashes upon launching the game or shortly after starting gameplay.

It's been speculated that at least some aspect of the Path of Exile 2 crashes may be linked to this issue.

"
This hotfix officially only addresses the following issues:
...
Improved stability for UBISoft games using the Snowdrop engine [4914325]

NOTE: May also address issues with some other games that were unstable with R565 (565.xx/566.xx) drivers.

TL;DR: This hotfix could fix some sh*t. Merry Christmas. Maybe. Download link to nvidia.com is in the Reddit post.

Chances are it's not going to do anything.
